Hurricane ACL Central

All Systems GO!!

Honest. Eisley is doing the show!

Here's an AUSTIN WEATHER report that tells me - in spite of the fact that I'm
watching Hurricane TV - and seeing the Louisiana/Texas Gulf Coast being
pummeled by Rita - all is well, and all will be well in Austin, Texas...
eSPecially on Sunday. Keep in mind, I'm looking at this at 2:00am on
Saturday morning. Blue skies and sunshine predicted for Sunday.

So, we're leaving Tyler tomorrow around 1:00pm - planning on a long trek
on 31 due West toward Corsicana where we cross I45, head on SW on 31
toward Waco where we hit I35/81 and cruise due South for Austin... It's a
4.5 hr drive without traffic... so, it'll probably take us a good 5 - 6 hrs.

We have to be in the gate by 9:00 am, unloaded around 9:30am. Eisley has
to be back to the artist area for a Rolling Stone interview by 10:00 - and on
and on... back to stage by 11:00 right after Wilco line-checks... a healthy
sound check and hopefully a happy, wonderful SHOW by 12:30!!!

So... I'll update this info ON TOP of this info (reverse of what i usually do)
in case anything changes. Thanks.

boyd

p.s. Eisley is rumored to be playing a new song.

So Far. So.. So..

I presume that the show must go on... But it's weird. As i type, one of the
most destructive storms is heading for the Texas Gulf Coast. People will die.
Homes and lives will be utterly destroyed.

It's hard to hold the excitement of a huge outdoor music festival in one
quadrant of my brain and the depressing reality of the impending storm at
the same time... the mixture of emotions is unsettling.

Anyway, as of right now... at 11:00pm on Thursday, Sept. 22, the ACL
website says everything is a go. Hey, it's Texas... git tuff or die. (yikes.)

If you want to know what's happening with US and the storm... or US and
ACL, check back here. Anyway, this is where I'll post stuff about the
show.

It's too bad they cannot turn ACL into a hurricane-relief fundraiser or something. Seriously, it would be huge.

Hm, but if it is still on, then it is still on, I guess. We cannot let our whole lives stop for the hurricanes. I guess we have to keep living our lives and especially keep helping those who are in need around us. I really hope these hurricanes can help people be aware of poverty and those in need and just love those around them. I am probably thinking too much..

Anyhow, thanks for informing!

I don't understand. It's supposed to be a monsoon going on during the entire event. Surely they must cancel. With the evacuations, how are all the bands supposed to get there.

I say re-shedule.

I hope everything turns out all right and that not too much damage comes from this hurricane. I'll pray for all of you in Texas.

I don't think I'm making it. Goodbye 75 bucks. Be careful, y'all.
