Deep in the Heart of Texas

Hi ya'll. I'm inscribing these morning after (the San Antone show)
cuz last night, after I did myspace duty, I was in total delirium. No. I was
head soup. My brain was that of a luke warm bowl of generic brand
macaroni that sat out for too long; but wait... now pour warm, Liquid
Drain-O on the carb-oguini's and stir for 2 minutes... that was the
constitute of my skull innards last night. I'm not much better this morning.
Eye hole still swollen a bit and I look like I'm 48 years old. Glad I can
rest up today whilst the little buggers dance along the river walk.

As I was eating breakfast in the hotel this morning, I was shocked at the
tall drink accents of those around me... until I realized we were in
Texas; WOaH Betsy, we're not in Kansas or Boston or Detroit or Seattle
anymore;I think I was disoriented from not sleeping good or sump'n. You
wake up in a different hotel room every morning... one of the challenges
becomes figrin' out where you are in the world... and even more of a
challenge - fig'r out which way to turn when you come out of your room -
down that long hall to the right? - or to the left? where was that elevator?
Anyway, those accents were thick man. Dango-man-fas-tawkin'Texunz
awl-aroun'me.

I'm sitting on my blow up cushion with an ice pack on my leg... err, shin.
I couldn't figure out what was wrong, but my leg started pain'n me bad.
Since I ignored it, it got all fester'd up and finally kept me from loading in
and back out last night. Kim and others said it's a shin splint. (?) Info
says my muscles/lig's etc. are becoming separated from my bone. Not
sure why... Maybe running. I ran almost a mile the other day in the heat
back to the van which was parked way too far from the venue in NM. I
guess that messed it up, but it was already hurting a little the day before.
whatever. I don't have time for this! (woah, time to go check my load in
the dryer)

Eisley's Musical Waves Wobble Out and Over the Cacti,
Scrub Brush of the Humid San Antonian Sky.

It was a beautiful release. Like pigeons in captivity, the magical melodies
flapped their pretty wings and soared to the top of the LoneStar Pavilion
and out into the sunset in San Antone'. The imaginary yearning is over.
Eisley has come to it's own.

I'm being ridiculous. (sips cold hotel coffee) But I have fun. For
newcomers - I don't brag. I'm not in some sacred position to pretensively
avoid my true feelings about the band or their music. When I speak as I
do - I speak as a fan of the music. I can't help it. And San Antonio
deserved to hear the band. Austin/Houston/Dallas get all the love. I'm
stoked that these new markets have a chance to hear... even if it's just a
few that hear bells ringing as they soak in the sounds. Eisley may never
be for the masses. Always remember - real art, art that's personal...art
that touches the soul of the artist, is never created for a market; for
money; for labels. Bands like Eisley started writing music in their
bedrooms to satisfy themselves and no one else. Room Noises isn't a
commercial. It's music inspiration...it's very personal, but it's packaged
for people.

7 Songs for San Antonio-ians.

It was, indeed, a hearty, phsyched crowd. Eisley took the stage with the
kind of support we see in Dallas or LA. No, it wasn't half the crowd... but
I'd say that 1/4th screamed like with the force and gusto of John Wayne
in random clips from "The Alamo". The rest of nfg's and reggie's peeps
joined in...cuz, heck; why not - finally a band's comin' onto thuh' stage.

Sweet sounds. Climactic. Robust. Beautiful. Full on. Head Against the Sky
was epic... clapter was terrific. I believe this show was as historic as it
was powerful. (keep thinking pigeons being released... that's Eisley right
now in their own state)

Anyway, you guys can comment. There was a pretty little mob of you
hunkered down by Eisley's side of the merch table waiting patiently for
Reggie's set to conclude... It took almost an hour for the band to get to
each and every one; signing and getting snapped. I haven't seen that
kind of crowd around them since Dallas (just the night before), but that
doesn't happen everywhere; trust me. Not in North Carolina or
Minneapolis or Montreal.

Anyway, nice to meet you street teamers/forum lurkers/e-merge people.
You were so gracious, exuberant, friendly... thanks.

And, nice to hang with my old friends Dan and Dawn (and their cousin)
who came to the show. We all went to the mall by the River Walk yesterday eve' before doors and ate mall court food. That' was pretty decent. Good times.

I have to design some T-shirts for the next tour. Better get off the
saddle. Time to bulldog some cows. yippe yi yo...

Hot! New T designs. I have a question though, will we see the return of the green coffee t on this tour? Since it was missing from the b2basics.

'Twas an awesome show indeed. The band, the fans, the atmosphere.... well the atmosphere wasn't the greatest. Kinda rainy to say the least. But I had a fantastic time at the show. I got to meet some cool kids from the forum, got to say hey to the band, oh and thanks for the autograph. "Boyd's sticker" will go somewhere important, I promise. Well rest up and feel better bud.

ahhh shin splints? I hate those... yeah running will surely do that to you... especially if it was like on concrete... hmm yeah i don't know what really makes shin splints better because i'd always have them all track season long... but i guess you just have to rest up and do some stretching like point... flex...point...flexxx... hehe i hope they get better boyd! Take Care!

Haha. King of the Hill is great. Boomhauer, ha.
It was great to meet you finally. You're taller than I remember.
I love reading your take on the band. I guess YOU are their biggest fan after all. Not too surprising, but I hope they realize how lucky they are. I hope you feel better soon. You looked pretty decent last night. I couldn't tell anything was wrong with you.

depite the weather, it was one of the best shows i've ever seen. it was good to meet the band for the first time. i went back in the line to see the girls like three times (didn't want to look too desperate) with somthing new for them to sign each time. yeah and stacy covered in fake blood would totally look hot.
sherri's voice puts tears behind my eyelids.
im definatly going to see them again when they come back or around.
