November 20, Boulder, Colorodo

Fri Nov 21, 2003 6:49 am

An afternoon live radio performance at KCSU - the #1 college radio
station in the country.

The did an acoustic set, but without the Rhodes, Bass guitar
and tambourine. (only Chauntelle's Larave')

She kept having trouble with her headphones and was moving
around while trying to sing

I had zoomed without knowing it...I was concerned about her
headset. But it made for some interesting shots.

Chauntelle and the polyphonic instrument.

That's the entire group - or at least the guys that were there
while Eisely was in the studio. They were super nice, and the
guys in the listening room were swooning while Eisley was
performing live, on air.

The Fox Theater is in the middle of this college campus; lots of
coffee and cool sandwich shops... I really loved it.

Here's a not so great image of inside.

And now for the boring shots of the band while playing their set.

What a cool venue. The Fox Theater

And the people were friendly...and they had their stuff together. It was a
great night for hanging out; Thanks to Bleach and Holland for showing
such support. Great times. Also, got to meet Jay from the forum and
other friends and other fans who aren't on the forum, but saw Eisley at
Red Rocks.

Still, it really didn't feel like the Boulder crowd totally "got" eisley... until,
of course, Jesse Lacey came out and sang the second verse of "I wasn't
Prepared" like he has the last 3 nights. Those girls go wild. But other than
that, the Boulderites seems to gloss over; There was applause and
stuff...nobody was rude. But, I have to say, it might have been the least
responsive audience thus far.

That's ok....and, Eisley's show might have had something to do with it, in
all fairness. The performance were pretty tight overall, but there were a
few vocal dips - and the mix seemed to lend itself to discrediting the
vocals, overall. Sherri's mix was shrill with no middle....Stacy's was
volumesque and often on top when it should have been on bottom. I
thought the drums sounded great...and globally, it was very cool. There
are so many dynamics that go into a show.... oh well, we'll always
remember Red Rocks - their best show of the Coldplay tour.

I look forward to Eisley headlining their own tour - I totally realize that
most everyone was there to experience interactive "ROCK" - not
experiencial, creative, sensitive, soft rock. Isn't Casey amazing on slide?

I WILL post pics from last night, of course. You can see that I'm slowly
starting to catch up....but keep in mind - I am generally a miserable
failure and hacking my way through all of this. Confused ONWARD to Kansas!

From now on, when I get the images up, I'll just post them at the top.
Thanks guys. Boyd

heh. it's never too little too late, i suppose. now i feel bad for you having searched through the van for trinkets to trade with our friends!

one things for sure...today. i AM the envy of alll the other kids at school. er...work. and by kids i mean mostly middle aged, or aging women. Confused cest-la-vie, i had a GREAT time Smile

Same thing happened to me with the Street Team stuff ... but I'm still making good use of them. Thanks for the pics.

Boyd, good luck with the photos. If you can get them up, cool. If not, don't worry.

So sad I missed the show. I wanted to come so bad but had a Chemistry test! By the time that was over your set was done so it was no use. Sorry to hear it wasn't the best of crowds =o/ There was at least one nice person that went in and bought me the new EP though =oD
Hope to see you guys sometime soon *cry*

Chemistry over Eisley? I don't know about that one. Just josh'n yah. I admire your self control. I would have skipped the test. Twisted Evil

Anyway, what's the deal with the two different versions of Telescope Eyes (the one on the EP and the one on the website). I'm a fan of both but the website version had a bit more identity to it, which i liked. The EP version has a general theme about alienation whereas the website version has a specific story (i.e. "Dear Matthew, why can't you see? You're just not near enough like me. [Great line by the way]) I can completely envision this story because the original lyrics go into detail of Matthew's physical attributes. Okay, now I'm blathering. Yeah that's right, I said blathering. I was just curious. The song is still great.

at this point Telescope Eyes is a really old song........they recorded it for their indie EP.........i think the label wanted to craft it into a radio single?? for the first label EP and that's why they took away the best part (dummies)......the jazzy, OK Computer-y bridge, instrumental break

what's the deal with this streat team........jamie, you got some posters? i want one........what are they of exactly?

The posters are basically the front and back covers of the EP with some copy on it. They're 11X17 and in color. I've posted one on my office door (yes, I have an office ... I feel important until I realize it's about the size of a closet). So now everyone in my newsroom knows I'm obsessed ... and I've even convered a couple of 'em. The stickers are little vinyl circles, I think like the buttons on eisleymerch.com. They have some info on back, strategically placed so if the two pieces are discarded on the groud, each one would contain vital info (that's my theory, at least). But I'm rambling ...
