We just landed in Tuc Son, AZ and are chillin for a few minutes in our
happy lil' Best Western somewhere not so far to the venue. The drive
was short and hot. The band slept, Jonathan Clark drove and I worked.
I don't know what to expect tonight. Again...Snow Patrol hasn't played
here and I don't think Eisley has either. Peeps from Tempe/Phoenix say
that nobody from there ever comes to show here... like, you'd think they
would, but...they say no. So, I guess we'll find out. No clue whether there
are ANY Eisley fans here or not.
We'll see. Gotta roll. This is a late show i think. I heard a rumor that
there was an opener in front of Eisley. hmm. That would be the second
time that's happened on this tour. Interesting. Talk after the show if I can
hold my head up. Didn't sleep good last night and we have 1052 miles to
drive tomorrow... about 18 hours in the van. Mapquest says 16hrs.
11min. later. bd

Plush.
Indie. Reminds me of the old days... hey wait, these still are the old
days. The mains were the monitors were the mains... same speakers.
Small Mackie's. The crowd was typical...as you get closer to the back, the
volume of chatter gets so loud you can hear their conversations over the
band. It was chaotic, it was lo fi but it was fun. The people were nice and
I think Eisley made a lot of fans. Seemed like people loved them alot.
A few cars parked in front of our van so we were trapped... and that
meant Snow Patrol was trapped as well. Derek Fudge had them towed.
We finally got away around 1:30am. The band took a plunge in the pool
and now we're on line. We have to head out early. I was going to pull out
at 6:00am but... NO. I have to have at least 4 hours of sleep in me to get
up early and drive the first 8 hr shift or whatever. My brain is melted
shut. I need to get a wench and yank the folds apart. They're seared and
all super-glued.
Tomorrow we drive. I might not get a chance to get on line at home since
we'll probably pull in around 2:00am at the earliest. Goodnight all. bd
Wait. a few things I'll forget. It was a fun night on many counts... we
were there when Snow Patrol loaded out so it was great hanging out...
Weston started blowing his whistle at them and ordering them around. It
was so funny. After they'd had enough, "Coatsie" grabbed him and stole
the whistle... I heard him walking off blowing it. The whole night was that
way. Lot's of interaction. It's continued to move more that direction since
my last update. They're a great bunch of guys. More fun than we
expected. Derek is also amazing, of course.
Nice to hook up with our own Jaqueline from Tyler tonight...and from
Tucson - Kelly and Anthony and Jennifer and Red and others... cheers
everybuddy. bdout.
Could it be made of wood?
Mark is grabbing a sandwich in the coffee shop... (S.P.'s bassist)
She was... in the dark the entire set.
