Frustrations Flare in 'Zona

It's early. I'm sitting in the hallway of our Best Western - Tempe, on Scottsdale. I just finished answering my 4 pages of pm's. (started in Vegas) I feel a sigh of relief coming on. Cuz, I've now answered (i think) every pm ever sent... my record is still intact. (intact?) But I will one day fail and lose the battle and all of this will be a puff of X and O smoke. "All men are like grass - and their glory, like the wild flower". And Eisley will either make one more record and get dropped or they'll go on to enter the rock music hall of fame. Or somewhere in the middle is more likely.

Tuc-son today. WE pull out at high noon. we turn after the cactus and pass Dry Gultch Creek... then it's straight down Cat Baloo road - past Dead Cow Skull Ravine... on to Tuc-Son. But not before stopping for a cool gulp of 99 cent Arizona Mango and Passion Fruit Tea right out of the Arizona River.
Yes. That will be divine. And...it is divine - back in the sun and the heat. I wish Arizona was a place that really dug Eisley's music, cuz it's so easy to stop off here for a drink of Arizona Tea. But you people love them, and some of you are from Arizona, so... thanks!

Then, we have a day off to drive to Albuquerque, New Mexico. That's fine, but I wish the day off was to drive back HOME to Texas. Ya'll, we have a 12 hour drive from Albuquerque to Dallas. (with contingencies... prolly more like 10.5 drive straight...but you have to add in the xtra or you die and miss your load in/soundcheck)

HOME. Home... h o m e .... followed by the thought of stress - deadlines, financial hardship, and needing a long, long rest... one point five weeks home and hit the ground running.

more later.

The girls just called. Someone broke into their room while they were asleep and stole their purses out of their hotel room. Stacy, Chauntelle and Christie were asleep with the door SHUT. Sherri was still hanging out with Weston and Chad... when she came in, the door was very, very open. like 2 feet open. Very scary. Anything could have happened to the girls. All their money (per diems from yesterday) are gone, identities, keys, ipods... !#@$!%! I HATE THEIVES!!

Petty Lo-Lifes

Today was just frustrating. We sorta got over the morning drama, but... I think it knocked the wind out of us. The shows haven't been very productive... it feels like we don't belong here; Losing personal valuables to some low life theif while he hovered over my daughters in their own hotel room makes my blood boil.

I forced the hotel, against their will, to comp me the two rooms. We stay in their chain all over the country. To be vandalized in such a way with no compensation - losing ipods and over $550, keys, jewelry, expensive perfume, odds and ends - it's an injustice. It was the least they could have done was to offer; i had to ask them, and they said they'd only charge us for one room. I said, "someone broke into your hotel room, vandalized my daughters while they were sleeping... they could have raped or worse, we lost probably $800+ from us - and you're only willing to comp us 60 bucks? wow..."

I walked outside the office, back to the front desk where customers were - to check out, and basically said, "I really don't want to pay for either room... it's the least you can do for what we've suffered... I realize it's not your fault, but we're taking a big hit... it's not right."

He reluctantly said, "ok". My next step was... talk a little louder and continue the argument. If that failed, I suppose i could have informed the other guests that random theives were breaking into rooms while they slept. Sorry. I'm tired.

----------------------

Eisley's set tonight was amazing. The sound was amazing. It was the perfect opportunity to win over Arizonian Pop-punkers... but, alas, the crowd was flat on them... yawning, barely clapping... and when i went to check on merch AFTER Reggie's set, there was a whopping 1 sold. Arizona and Eisley just don't mix I guess. Like oil and water. Tomorrow I'll kick up some dust in the van and head toward New Mexico.

I do thank those 175 people who came to the acoustic "in store" at Tower. That was totally the high point of our 2 day stop off here. Aside from that, it sucked a little dirt and cactus. If you're an nfg fan and are reading this and really loved the band tonight or last night, please don't think I'm ungrateful. We're just tired and beat up and today sucked. But I don't think there are any of you on here. Maybe the one who bought the cd. I'll check numbers after the show. If we could double, that would be great. ha ha.

Redlining and the power chords just fried again in the van -- I think. Sorry. Take care Arizona. I love the tea. We won't be here next tour... but that's not Eisley's fault.

boyd out.

we had a homeless man living in a tree that nearly touched our house, and one day the homeless man stole my moms car.

That is so horrible, I am so mad that that happened to the girls. If something would have happened (which i'm glad didn't), it would have been my worst birthday present EVER. Just imagine that, something else horrible happening to your favorite band? But thank God nothing did.

i'll pitch in some money for the "i pods for eisley" i couldn't live without mine, so i feel the hurt. I'm glad everyone is ok though. I'd lend them my i pod if i wasn't over a days drive away.

It's not even the fact that "OMG they have no ipods no more!" It's the fact that we all know they don't deserve this, ESPECIALLY them, and it would be a way of saying "Thanks for everything you have done for us."
