August 6-7th Drive Home

Sun Aug 07, 2005 3:24 pm

We left the studio, as mentioned, drove all the way to Salt Lake, went to sleep around 3:00am, got up, were ready to leave by 10:00am, only there was something leaking from under the hood, so we drove to get the oil changed, etc. Turns out is the water pump seal. We patched everything up temporarily and headed home. 24 hrs. later, after driving though the night, we arrived. 12:30pm. I drove over half - 730 miles of the trip myself... and actually, (brag, brag) 350 miles of the trip (over half) from Seattle to Salt Lake - making me the champion driver... jk. John drove thru the night last night. I cat napped a few times, but am totally toast right now.

We lied to Kim - telling her we were 5-6 hrs away and surprised her by being here after she got home from church. She and the small gang freaked. We got home in time to do the house cleaning she was going to do for us... it was so cool. Now we're all slugging around. - too sleepy to stay awake. Including me..... zzzzzzzz.......

We're so happy to be home. it's amazing. Weston wanted his mom's beans and rice so that's what she was cooking when we arrived. I want to go to our own Starbucks tonight and see people. i'm flat lining... my drive today began at 6:30am after what felt like no sleep at all. I drove the entire 350 straight with everyone asleep... but now am feeling it. ok. zzzz....... bd

Glad to hear you are back to the place you love surrounded by the ones you love. I know it's not logical but try and get a rest during your short stay back in Tyler. Take care!

How cool is THAT?!?
A million hours riding in a van....and instead of sleeping, which they certainly deserve to do, they do the housework as soon as they get home, so Mom doesn't have to do it....
THIS is why people need to listen to, and learn from, Eisley.

I hope that all of you guys get some well deserved rest and familial recouperation. You deserve all of the blessings of those that put generosity and kindness ahead of all else in their hearts and actions. I can't help but feel a smile come across my face as I read such an entry; the feeling of relief and happiness at returning to a place of comfort, home, comes through vicariously and viscerally. Congratulations and welcome home Eisley!

when you said home, i could almost picture the comfort of all you guys jumping into your own beds and eating kim's food and whatnot Very Happy it must feel so nice. i dunno, continuous touring would get to ME, but thats just my personality..im not a travelling type person. but when you have a purpose for it, like spreading wonderful music, im sure that sort of changes Smile
just get a lot of rest please and boyd-- a lot of sleep!!!!!!
