Being at home these days is like visiting mom and dad. You feel guilty because you aren't there more often, and you relish every bit of time with them you have. You try to jam pack everything into a short amount of time... forced visitation, more cooking, you leave nothing unsaid... you relish every moment. Because you know it might be a while before you're back. (hi mom)
But, for what it's worth, it's good. I'm not really relaxing because I should be working. hold on. brb. Eddie's looking for flour.

The Shows might do really well
I heard the shows are doing really well. I don't know what that means. Like, the promoter said by earlier last week, there were 400 people who'd downloaded anywhere from 1 - 4 tickets. That must mean... what? That might mean all the tickets for whatever show that was are out... or gone? I dunno. I emailed the promoter to find out what it all means.
I just want the venues filled to capacity if enough show up and get in line. That's all.
Eisley's SET
Eisley's set is pretty long, ya'll. It's not been timed, but I think there are 20 songs. You'd better go back and dig thru old stuff so you'll know it... some of you newer fans that don't even have the ep's - or the early works... or unreleased stuff. There are 5 unreleased songs from various periods, there are 10 songs from Room Noises (one they have only played a few times), There are 3 songs from the EP's they're playing... one they haven't played in at least 3 tours... I'm not disclosing anything; most of you know all of these songs... if you're on this forum.

I was just thinking - how weird Eisley is. They have all these favorite songs...some made it to the record, some didn't. It doesn't matter to them. And, there's really no such thing as important songs, an unimportant songs; hey, there's no radio, so... key songs are they ones they define as favorites. As long as they nearly play the entire record, i guess it doesn't matter after that.
The Lost Songs
I was just thinking... touring this record won't last forever. By this time next year, they'll be done with it... writing new material, planning a recording. After the NEXT record comes out, which songs will they play on tours? All new ones? What happens to the songs like Mr. Pine or They All Surrounded Me - that fall by the wayside? If they have two records to perform, will songs like Sun Feet and Head Against the Sky disappear? If you have 35 songs from 2 full lengths and 2 ep's, how can you afford to play the lost songs from your archives? oh well. Just thoughts.
I mean... you can't hold on to these songs forever. You can cherish them forever... but, how many b-sides get played at shows? And some of these aren't even recorded, so they're not b-sides yet.

We're getting ready to eat some big, big, big Mexican food. Eddie and my brother Wade (Garron's dad) all went to the Mercado... very authentic... in Tyler earlier and (eddie) bought boatloads of all kinds of stuff... peppers, onions of all kinds, tomatoes of all kinds, mole', beans, rice... cheese... stuff I don't know what is.... and eddie slaved in the kitchen all afternoon. He's making us a spread of authentic, (non-texmex) food. He's the real deal. (eddie is a music journalist/critic... interviews all our favorite bands... the Decemberists, Easel, Death Cab, Pedro, Iron and Wine, Rile.. on and on... Also, member of this forum and long time Eisley fan/friend.)

We're doing it again. I always say it. Relishing and extrapolating every drop of homeness from this time together is making us go into denial. Packing? ha ha!!! Register as brainwaves? HA!!
