US Skeisley One

That's the name of Eisley's brand new 2006 Boeing 747. It's so rad... all
polished up, painted drab green with the gold logo on the vertical
stabilizer (that's the tail for you non-geeks). Yeah, I mean, with all this
money they've made from touring, it was finally feasible... I mean, it was
high time to paint the sky with their mighty, mighty AIRBUS... that's right,
the biggest bird in the sky. It's all custom inside. Herman Miller chairs,
Ralf Bozoid Bunk Beds, an upstairs loft featuring a Mac store (yes, the
spiral staircase is made of thick glass) with 10 g5 work stations and 20 g5
laptops (we get the newest stuff, of course), there's a Hank Rockcrok
BulkPro 6000 personal work out gymnasium and best of all, it's got a
practice space complete with gear (everything is welded down). Yes sir.
We bought that sucker with merch money. It really adds up.

Puffy Pufferoo’s

30,000 ft. up - in route to home sweet away from home - Los
Angeles, California. Every time we fly to the West coast, I think...” man,
how is it possible; It takes me 10 hrs to drive from Dallas, Texas to El
Paso Texas... and we just did it in an hr.” Then I think - “This is so much
faster and easier”. Then, I look down and think - “woah, our van and
trailer wouldn’t even be a spec down there”. (...here, and I’m floating in
my tin can, far, far away”); And i stare out across the silvery cloud poofia
and think - “I wonder how long this adventure will last”...and, less
reflective, “ - “I wonder how many times we’ve flown this or driven this?
why didn’t i count?”. Meanwhile, the captain just told us to look down to
the right (where I am, by the window) to see Phoenix. “Hi Phoenix! I
wonder who’s playing at the Marqui Theatre tonight?”.

Small to US

The US seems so much smaller to all of us these days. Flying above it at
super-sonic speeds even amps the idea more. Think about it... we’ve
been to the West Coast 7 times (SEVEN) times in less than 10 months:
Snow Patrol Tour, WB Town Hall performance, Winter West Tour, NFG
Tour, Summer Scenic Tour, Hot Hot Heat Tour and now, the Yahoo Tour.
We’ve been to Chicago, New York, Detroit, on and on 5 (FIVE) times
during the same period of time. Before the year is out, we’ll have been to
Los Angeles at least 8 times in one year. It can’t be that big of a place if
you can just drive all over it in such short amount of times.

When I drove over half way from Seattle (left on a Friday morn at
9:00am) and drove into my driveway on Sunday around noon, something
happened to my brain. I’m not sure what... but the US seems smaller.
See ref. again for fun:

Yahoo Finale’

I know I speak for the band when I say, this lil’ tour has truly been a big
blessing. It’s gone like clockwork. Everything has been perfect. We’re
very, very thankful to Yahoo and Saturn for doing something that allowed
us to so something so fun.

The only hard thing was saying goodbye to Jeremy, our beloved bus
driver. This morning, the girls, Garron and I were all crouched around the
front seat and steps in the front yammering and talking to him on the sad
drive from the hotel to the Detroit airport; you could tell, everyone was
just trying to hang on to the moment; wanting it not to end. When they
saw the sign “DETROIT AIRPORT”, and signaled, they screamed, “no!!
NO!!!...”; he looked over calmly with a smile, and said, “is this where we
call in and say the bus broke down?”. Then he said, “well, you guys are
welcome to just ride back with me to Indiana... I’m just going home”. But
everyone tried to persuade him to buy ONE bus only, drive it to our
house, live with us, park it outside and he becomes our permanent guy...
to which he said, “ok, but i have to be given the honorary name: DuPree
and get one of those T-shirts that say’s “DuPree University”... to which we
said, “done!”.

Anyway, Jon and Weston watched the last bit of some DVD in the back
lounge while Mark and John took their last nap in the bunks. We piled out,
grabbed our gear from the spacious compartments underneath, hugged
Jeremy and waved goodbye as he drove off. Everyone had that “we’re
probably not going to get on another bus for a long, long time... but
wasn’t it grande”.

But the tour is NOT OVER YET! Troubadour, here we come... Captain just
said we’re descending and will arrive in 25 minutes. Those mountains
look awesome. I like ‘em better flying above them than I do driving thru
them...I see I-10 right below us. But I can’t see cars as specs yet.
“This is Major Tom to ground control.. I’ve really made the grade”

----------------------------------------------

We're at our hotel finally. "I'm so dizzy, my head is spinnin'. Like a wirl pool in never ends. You're makin' me dizzy.." No, but for real. I can't stayy awake. It's not even late, but it would be if we were still in Detroit. This is jet lag. I knew I shouldn't have bought that 747. night.
