August 21, Day Off Turns Fun

Hey to the few of you who are online this weekend.

How is everyone in LA? It seems so peaceful and quiet here - where we are. We arrived yesterday at dusk(see yesterday's report). There wasn't much to do and we were famished from no food, two flights with a layover in Dallas. We walked down Santa Monica Blvd for miles looking for the right experience, wore ourselves out and settled for Subway. We were bummed but after we started eating, Stacy muttered something like, "I don't know... people would laugh at us, right. We come all the way to Hollywood, head out on Santa Monica, and end up eating Subway when there's all this exotic food around us... but then again, it's just like us to do this. We're so average. It's funny really..."

But Chauntelle and I split a toasted Jalapeno bread Tuna foot long with honey mustard, pepper jack cheese, bells and bannana peppers. BAM. Oh my gosh... that's the best. That's our newest Subway discovery. You have to try it.

Anyway, we came home after a stop off at The Coffee Bean/Tree Leaf and were completely famished from our long walk. This is a different area for us, I must say. There were no girls here. All man couples. Everywhere. I think we're minorities in this zone. We're right near the Troub. off Santa Monica. oh well...

About to leave for San Diego for birthday party of new manager's little boy. How fun is that. His kids... and I quote, are "super narly stoked over Eisley". Like, they bought a Kareeoke machine because they're singing the songs non stop in their home. Rick say's, it's out of control... their family is over the top over Eisley... himself included. This kind of energy and passion is the new driving force in the band's path. I can't tell you how addictive it is - hanging around these guys.

Work. Work. Work. I'm not caught up. And I didn't bring the firewire chord that connects the video to my Mac. #@!$ how dumb of me. sorry. ahhh... frustrated.

Tommorrow, meetings followed by fittings for the video followed by load in and sound check and the show. (nutshell) Busy-ness. After the show, we load up and head to some location outside of LA... like an hour or something, not sure. Next morning, up early for the shoot. Fast pace but sounds pretty fun.

The video is going to be cool i think. Reserving judgement but i love the script, the vibe, the set... the band is on board with this one finally. They had direct input. Conversations are ongoing. Marvin is rad. yes it's another performance video but there are actors and other things happening. The girls are so stoked over the Sci-Fi-ness of it.

Ok. CAr is here. gotta head to San Diego. boydout.

San Diego
Awesome time. big blow out b-day for Rick's twins. It was amazing. pinata's, roasted smores on a pit, swimming, his little boy singing every lyric to every song on Eisley's record kareeoke, meeting tons of people, the ocean, that beautiful drive... great food, etc. Good times. Normal. Familes.
yes.

WAH! brightly wound has to be one of my absolute favorites. too bad you're already doing a video for it... cause i had this awesome imagery that plays through my head whenever i'm listening to it.

Book talk at Troubadour
Does anyone know the book that Chauntelle was talking about before they started play " They All Surrounded Us?" It was like Ipis? Or something. She said Stacy read it and thats where she got the idea for the song. Anyone know? :D
