....First, I have to entertain myself. Read it. It's a beautiful song...
Yellow Rose of Texas

There's a yellow rose in Texas, that I am going to see,
Nobody else could miss her, not half as much as me.
She cried so when I left her, it like to broke my heart,
And if I ever find her, we nevermore will part.

She's the sweetest little rosebud that Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sparkle like the dew;
You may talk about your Clementine, and sing of Rosalee,
But the yellow rose of Texas is the only girl for me.

When the Rio Grande is flowing, the starry skies are bright,
She walks along the river in the quiet summer night:
I know that she remembers, when we parted long ago,
I promise to return again, and not to leave her so.

She's the sweetest little rosebud that Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sparkle like the dew;
You may talk about your Clementine, and sing of Rosalee,
But the yellow rose of Texas is the only girl for me.

Oh now I'm going to find her, for my heart is full of woe,
And we'll sing the songs together, that we sung so long ago
We'll play the bango gaily, and we'll sing the songs of yore,
And the yellow rose of Texas shall be mine forevermore.

She's the sweetest little rosebud that Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sparkle like the dew;
You may talk about your Clementine, and sing of Rosalee,
But the yellow rose of Texas is the only girl for me.

And Where is the Rose Capital of Texas?

Tyler
So... in my grasping, feign but caluclated appraisal, I reckon "Eisley" to
be the actual, literal, Yellow Rose of Texas. Didn't you know that Tyler is
known for roses? Yes... "Rose Capital of the World'. You can buy a dozen
of them on street corners for $2.00. So, you get my analogy. Eisley... is
the subject of this song. Eisley is literally - "The Yellow Rose of Texas".

I'm attempting to build a really silly, silly intro that underscores the
fact that fact that I'm just honestly, gall dern "super-knarly-stoked" that
Eisley - a little band from Tyler, Texas is playing at such a grand Texas
Festival - on such a grand stage - in such a grand host (line-up) of bands.

Ok. I'm through entertaining myself. Stupid intro. Here's all the info I
have right now... and I've been plastering it everywhere:

Cingular Stage
- Eisley 12:30pm
Doves 2:30pm
The Arcade Fire 2:30pm
Wilco 2:30pm

Maps to help you figure out where to go

Got these off the ACL website and marked them so you won't have any
excuse not to go see the band:

Hope to run into a few of you Austin fans out there in the heat. I must
say, I hope the band has a great set. The last outdoor festival -
Coachella, was a terrible experience soundwise. This time, we're going to
be ready. Prepared for disaster... our own sound engineer, more crew,
we'll have a longer set up, sound check... it's going to be fun - no matter
who shows up. I know most of you won't be coming, but I wanted to open
this up for discussion, questions, etc. Thanks ya'll! boyd

i wonder if there are still tickets to this show? I heard rumors it was sold out. I have no clue.

A very limited number of tickets are available for Sunday and so far Saturday is the only day sold out. So for anyone who's hesitating about going, I'd definitely recommend making the decision very soon.

so this is going to be televised? is eisley going to be on TV?

They show Austin City Limits on t.v. (usually 2 bands per episode, 1/2 hr each), but I don't know if they show every single band or just the really popular ones or something. Just keep on checking in the future. But they won't be playing this Austin City Limits festival on t.v. anytime soon.

Actually, now that I come to think about it...this ACL looks like it's outdoors. And the one on t.v. is indoors in a studio thing. So maybe they're not the same thing at all?

I don't think it will be on TV, but they do live webcasts of the festival. They also release some of the performances on DVD.

Clark
Clark will be there. I was lucky enough to score a 3-day pass before they ran out. I'm really lookin' forward to this. Soo many great bands. So that makes what, 4.... 5 of us so far? I'm sure Eisley will be raking in fans at the show. No doubt. Drink plenty of water!

EDIT: Laughing The Yellow Rose is also a popular "gentlemen's club" here in Austin. Shocked
