If it seems Quiet...

It might be the silent scream before the storm
EISLEY PROMOTED SHOW BELOW.
HEY. I haven't posted much; not because I haven't wanted to. True, I've been busy... but I've also struggled hard to refrain from making this a diary of my deep thoughts. Sometimes I wish I could shut my brain off.
When the world isn't spinning around, the forecasting of spinning keeps my head spinning; it seems quiet but it's not... tours, rumors of UK tours, Australian tours, records, rumors of recording, producers, rumors of producers... new songs, old songs, rumors of releases, expectations, etc... It might seem quiet, but there's a stirring that I hear in the trees. The high winds are nigh...
Today, I was thinking about their new songs; how dream pop looks when it matures... how experience gives adolescence a new canvas...a new palette. I've been marveling over how well the band is utilizing classic tools (like metaphor) to employ meaning without sacrificing imagination; I've been listening to the new material and thinking... "man, oh man". (i just quoted my own thought on my own blog?)
All of this to say...it's going to be an interesting year. I don't have time tables, I don't know exactly when the band will finish writing the record, when and where they'll record it, who'll produce it, when they're touring the UK and who with... i don't know what's going to HAPPEN, but... there are going to be many, many words as this all unfolds.

Our Happy Thought
We're going to host this show in Tyler for our friends' bands; they're doing a small tour and needed a gig here, so, it's times to flip the switch to the ole' BrewTones machine back ON... if only for a night. I'm looking forward to this more than anything. Friends, the smell of coffee, old lamps, people millling, live music... hang time... BrewTones.
This is, of course, Eisely's alma mater; we all worked our horses-rears off at this back in the day... which is sorta why and how Eisley is around today. So... ok. that's we'll be doing Friday night - January 6th. Most of the work is before and after so, mostly you'll just see us all hanging out. I might be running around like always with my chicken head cut off but the band will be randomlhy imbedded into the scene...probably hiding so as not to draw any attention because they're dorky shy.
Shame on Boyd?
O my. But honestly, this event is as personal and as band related as anything else right now because it's something we're all doing together... so, I discounted the notion to place it in "shameless". These are "Tales from TrolleyWood". I don't publicize everything about our going's on, but if I so chose to...I simply will it. I'm that powerful. jk.
And, all of these bands are our good friends: Ivoryline, The Rocket Boys, Comrade and LuvBeat. You've probably seen everyone of these guys at Eisley shows over the years. How can we not help them. Plus some of the proceeds go to "Living Alternatives", who help young, single, pregnant women.
I didn't want to... honest.
Apologies for tossing the boiler plate content right on the crappy old rotting BrewTones sight. I had big plans to build it out all cool back in the day...when things sorta caved-in. (mean landlord and eisley took off) I actually didn't even know it was still up. I took down the last show info and shoved part of my thrown together poster for the gig in there. It looks horrible-ish. There's really no content... just pages with random background graphics. BUT, you can download the poster/flyer if you're from around here and get friends to come.
Well... I have to go do stuff. Sherri/Chad are coming back today, Weston and Jess' are driving back from H town, we've got old friends coming over, i need coffee, i need to weed-eat and edge, i need to get back onto Sherri's little store thing that's about to eat my lunch, dinner and breakfast.
THANKS FOR VOTING!!
YOU guys have kept Eisley in the race. I see we're slipping again, but however it turns out, I'm going to deliver something sweet to each of you guys when this is over ("each", because you can click onto a link and get it). No, for real. Maybe something from the past that only a few of you might remember but few have heard. If I can find it and do something with it. Maybe I'll make a video clip. But I will deliver somehing; no fanfare... it's not going to be some big deal. Mainly we just wanna say thanks for being one of the main reasons this band is getting out there. boyd
