MELBOURNE DAY 4

Tue Mar 14, 2006 8:02 am

Melbourne was AmaZing

The second show was freakishly wondrous. I think everyone on our little team is stumped. The response was double or triple on the second afternoon show. I don't have time to journal it proplerly right now; we have to catch a plane to Sydney... lobby call is in 1 hr!

Anyway, the short brief is - there was a cresendo of acceptance that built in a way that we're not used to. It felt like an Eisely headlining show in Dallas by the end.. "ONE MORE SONG!!", and clapter and merriment on the highest order. Thank you Melbourne.

Weston is still trying to figure out the shout out's and chanting of his name. He doesn't get how any of you even know his name. He figured you might have thought the band name was Weston or something.

TAKING BACK SUNDAY is also amazing. You know - we always talk about vibe... and how the dynamic of a tour is determined by how much the band's 'gel' or whatever... To give you an idea of how this is going, 3 of them came to Eisely's headlining set at a little club last night. I can tell you... that's not very typical. That's over the top.

We haven't spend that much time with them yet because of the schedule, but so far, it's been great. They're super nice guys; funny, personable... no ego.

Today, we're all flying together... bands/crew... a massive human air and gear cargo. I jokingly termed it: "The Taking Back/Eisley down under" tour. Bassist - Fred really liked the notion.

I WILL deliver way, way more pics... and as soon as we can slow down long enough, some clips! For now... I just have to say that Melbourne people are cool...fashionable, the city is beautiful, the food is verociously tastey and the coffee is the best we've had.

Cheers.

Here are a few pics but I'll be back with many more. thanks!!!

Tell us what you thought of Sydney compared to Melbourne. Laughing

Hopefully, I can make it to Aftertaste today. Haven't slept in 24 hours. Year 12 is the best. !

I miss these guys and I haven't even met them.

Then again, it could just be the ridiculous amount of coffee I've had kicking in...

I was kind of still in awe after your headliner show in Melbourne, so all the stuff I wanted to say to you guys sort of just came out in one big "You were awesome" to Stacy, but now that some days have passed and I've had a chance to sit back and think about the show and listen to your recordings - well, you're still awesome.

A friend from the UK sent me Marvelous Things back in June 05 and that's how I found out about you guys. Then randomly reading a friends Live Journal the day of the headliner show, I saw you were in town and was just like "yes! I need to go to this". Funnily enough, I ran into my two best friends at the show - we used to live together last year and had no idea the other were coming or even that we both liked your band.

I'm used to shows where I end up bruised from leaning against barriers, but what a treat it was to be able to sprawl on the floor and just...soak in your music. The highlight was definitely 'Just Like We Do' - if you couldn't already tell from the applause. Even though the guitar wasn't plugged in, Stacys vocal alone was perfect and I think that's now one of my favourite songs. Last second addition of 'Tree Tops' by a fans request was fantastic, I loved that one too.

Please please please come back one day. Better still, next time I'm in the US I'll check to see if you guys are touring. xoxo

And here's one of my pics.
