November 20, Boulder, Colorodo

An afternoon live radio performance at KCSU - the #1 college radio
station in the country.

The did an acoustic set, but without the Rhodes, Bass guitar
and tambourine. (only Chauntelle's Larave')

She kept having trouble with her headphones and was moving
around while trying to sing

I had zoomed without knowing it...I was concerned about her
headset. But it made for some interesting shots.

Chauntelle and the polyphonic instrument.

That's the entire group - or at least the guys that were there
while Eisely was in the studio. They were super nice, and the
guys in the listening room were swooning while Eisley was
performing live, on air.

The Fox Theater is in the middle of this college campus; lots of
coffee and cool sandwich shops... I really loved it.

Here's a not so great image of inside.

And now for the boring shots of the band while playing their set.

What a cool venue. The Fox Theater

And the people were friendly...and they had their stuff together. It was a
great night for hanging out; Thanks to Bleach and Holland for showing
such support. Great times. Also, got to meet Jay from the forum and
other friends and other fans who aren't on the forum, but saw Eisley at
Red Rocks.

Still, it really didn't feel like the Boulder crowd totally "got" eisley... until,
of course, Jesse Lacey came out and sang the second verse of "I wasn't
Prepared" like he has the last 3 nights. Those girls go wild. But other than
that, the Boulderites seems to gloss over; There was applause and
stuff...nobody was rude. But, I have to say, it might have been the least
responsive audience thus far.

That's ok....and, Eisley's show might have had something to do with it, in
all fairness. The performance were pretty tight overall, but there were a
few vocal dips - and the mix seemed to lend itself to discrediting the
vocals, overall. Sherri's mix was shrill with no middle....Stacy's was
volumesque and often on top when it should have been on bottom. I
thought the drums sounded great...and globally, it was very cool. There
are so many dynamics that go into a show.... oh well, we'll always
remember Red Rocks - their best show of the Coldplay tour.

I look forward to Eisley headlining their own tour - I totally realize that
most everyone was there to experience interactive "ROCK" - not
experiencial, creative, sensitive, soft rock. Isn't Casey amazing on slide?

I WILL post pics from last night, of course. You can see that I'm slowly
starting to catch up....but keep in mind - I am generally a miserable
failure and hacking my way through all of this. Confused ONWARD to Kansas!

From now on, when I get the images up, I'll just post them at the top.
Thanks guys. Boyd

hey boyd,

i just wanted to say, on behalf of the staff at KCSU, thanks for stopping by at our station. i wish i was at the station while the interview was going on, but i had another interview for an internship...but i did listen to it. sounded great. i hope you were able to get a hold of the CD that we left for you of your interview. i left it with the guy at the merch table since i couldn't find any of you. anyway, i hope that the next time you're in the colorado area, that you stop by for a visit.

oh yeah, about the boulder crowd, well...what can i say...all they have is clear channel radio and top 40 such and such...but then again...i'm making excuses.

cheers,

mike santos a.k.a the only dark kid in the KCSU picture above...HA!

Ken
just sayin
growing up in that awesome town known as Levittown i naturally went to the fox for a little bit of home, since college is so wonderful and all Wink .
What i didn't expect to see a really talented new band. I thought you guys were great but the crowd was definitly not feeling it, and didn't appreciate the wordsmiths that you are. I ran back to the island for turkey and beaches (which their is a surprising lack of in colorado) but it was really cold. I even went to your NY show after almost being killed at Roseland the night before (the freezing rain and all). Keep playing really cool music. Hope you guys enjoyed brand new because they're the best the island has to offer.
