Congratulations
Adam proposed to Chauntelle tonight. She accepted. They're engaged.

Awww...

Candid shots at the house... the night of.

Inquisitive faces; like flint... set against the wind, the courageous young couple
looks TO THE FUTURE!... (i know. too many old movies)

Rough Sketch
Well, it was a public event. Scene kids were there so it's probably already being blogged. I'm probably way behind the gossip chain. Adam proposed to Chauntelle in our home town Starbucks... their favorite hang. It was quite planned, quite dramatic, quite romantic... that's all I'm gonna say. Tears and hugs were rampant.

How strange is this - If only for 2 days, two daughters engaged at the same time. Life is crazy. btw - I hate rumors... so just for the official record: As you guys know, we met TBS in Australia last March. Eisley was main support on their "Louder Now" tour; We went BACK out w/ them in May... in the UK. Chauntelle and Adam hung out no more than any of us did... mostly Adam, Matt... together back stage - standard buffoonery... (those guys had a pact not to flirt w/ the eisley chicks) It was purely friendship. Good times. That's it. The tour ended. End of story. Friendship turned special only by way of long distance (phone) for 6 long months; Adam moved from NY to Tyler 3 months ago to pursue the young Eis-damsel by way of courtship... and here she is on Valentines Day w/ a ring on her finger. That's a true, old fashion... love story. This ain't Hollywood, ya'll. Surprised

----------------------------------------------------------

Intent
If anyone thinks all of this was some big ploy to find the Eisley girls suitors... or rock stars, that would be pretty stupid. It's not rocket science - you end up getting married to people you meet and end up hanging out with. (touring provides such.) I have figured it out though... just in time! There's only one Eisley girl left; So from now on, we have to chose tours for reasons other than marketing. Smile Meh, things seemed to have worked out though... somebody bigger has it under control. Hey, come to think of it... Chad made the Eisley/NFG tour happen and... Adam pushed WB into the making the Eisley/TBS tours happen. hmmm... so that's the game.

FATE OF EISLEY
If you think this means the end of Eisley, that would also be... very wrong. You should have seen the looks on their faces tonight when I told them they were playing right after "Mew" at their SXSW showcase. (yes!) And the new mixes are making them all smile even bigger. Ok, it's true - weddings and engagements aren't making their lives suck either. But you get the idea. Eisley isn't going anywhere.

Bottom line? - They're all about their band. No surprise, they're all about family too. You should also know... their guys are all about their band, too. This little bubble is very band-centric... in case you haven't figured it out, music is pretty important to all of us. Oh, and there is that little thing (in the filing cabinet) called a record contract. So, yeah... f the record industry doesn't tilt and WB keeps them, they have 4 more records after this one.

----------------------------------------------------------

SXSW, Touring, etc.
I know this is all about Adam and Chauntelle, but I figure this particular thread might get some readership. What, do i look stupid? (did i use that word twice ? mom will be pissed. We weren't allowed to call each other stupid...)

So, again - Friday March 16th: Paste Magazine, True Volume, Nylon Magazine and Saturday March 17th: Marty Diamond Showcase at La Zona Rosa. Come see Mew and you'll be set for Eisley. It looks like that show will be Saturday night... 10 or 11 ish. I think the Pure Volume gig is w/ Love Drug and Mute Math. (yeah!)

I realize that probably 95% of you won't be able to see the band at SXSW. Don't even give it a 2nd thought; Remember my rhetorical teaser about "tours and rumors of tours". By the end of this record cycle, you'll all be shrugging and telling your friends, "enough already... I just wish Eisley would go home and write more songs".

But yeah...as previously mentioned, there will be a headlining tour that routes and connects with a big, fat (opening slot) tour. Until we have confirmation and dates (forthcoming, i swear), it can't be blog-dicated. Hey Houston - I think your show is at Cynthia Woods Michelle Pavillion where we go to religiously gaze our ears upon Radiohead's fine music.

Sophmore Album
All songs now tracked; 12 songs in Malibu - one of those is surely a B sides, out of the 11, one was recut at RoseWood Studios here in Tyler by the band and Chad); there have been 5 mixes put to bed by Tim Palmer - a very British guy... with very brilliant, British sensibility. Everyone from producer (Richard Gibbs) to label to management (Rick DeVoe), the label (Warner Bros Records) and most importantly the band (Eisley), has loved the mixes. This sounds like the band you've always dreamed they'd sound like and the remaining songs will be mixed at RoseWood starting next week (NFG is in the studio at RoseWood TODAY). Eisley's 2nd Album will be completely finished - mixed and mastered within the next week or two. Album name and album art are moving to the front burner. Proposed release date: last week in May or first week in June (unconfirmed).

btw - Tim Palmer discography (mixing):

U2
Pear Jam

( i would edit that, but I enjoy the fact that someone had to point
out that Tim mixed "pear jam". the word is "Pearl". btw. for you rockers,
it was "Ten" that he mixed)

The Cure
Duran Duran
Switchfoot
Jason Mraz
Tears for Fears
Him (Him is a band, not a guy)
Robert Plant
Live

So yeah, Congrats to Chauntelle and Adam... and Happy Valentines Day!

(Meanwhile: Chad and Sherri, the other two love birds from Tyler, Texas tie the knot Saturday.)

ADDENDUM

Hateration

To any haters: I know you're out there because one day when I was bored, I googled Adam's name and read the 5280 pages of goopy, non-stop fantasy-blog about him. (huh? !#@%&!?) Woah, and I just thought he was some regular human being or something Smile. Was I wrong. Anyway, all of this syrupy love-gunk has be boiling the blood of a certain scene segment.
I realize that none of this I am about to rant is going to change your mind; I'm wasting my time.

But just for your information, nobody in Eisley was hot and bothered about TBS. They were just another band; label mates. Thumbs up. I mean... sure, they seemed like cool guys; We had one of their cd's... stuff like that; MarkyMark (on this forum), one of our tight friends, was super into TBS. Great jams.

AND, yeah... there were common threads; our former friendship w/ Brand New and all that... Smile you know the history; we knew stuff... rivalry, factions.... whatever (btw, brand new was over all that stuff by the time we were out with them. no hate from what we could tell; they told us the facts and were very non-attitudinal about it... ) Anyway, we thought TBS was a good band and really respected their music so the tour seemed like a solid idea to tour with them.

"Who cares..." I know; There's a point here! I just figured there might be a few girls out there - super bummed. That's understandable. I wish an apology was in order... but, gosh... it's not. This is just life. If you're angry for all the reasons you feel are right, then... I hope you'll ponder a few things...and maybe reconsider. I think you're wrong. For one thing, it's not good for your insides to hate and hold grudges. Ask the medical profession. It can kill you over time. But enough about biology.

Look... Chauntelle's life hasn't been some fairy tale. She's lived through some hard times; had her share of crap dumped on her. But there's no whining or rage or hate; Sure, she's had a bunch of dark times, struggles, adjustments... Everybody has them; I guess I'm just saying - you can hate Eisley, hate their music, hate their band for whatever reasons you want. There are bands I don't really like so much... fine. But none of that has really anything to do with life... with reality.

Chauntelle is probably the most genuine, kind, caring, considerate, real person you'll ever meet. Ask anyone who's ever talked with her for even a few minutes. If you chose to hate her because she met some guy in a band that she had no crush on, no infatuation with, no knowledge of before hanging out with him for a few tours, and fell in love with...then... jeeze... that's just screwed up.

And not to take anything away from Adam. I don't know if she thought he was cute or not. Maybe she did. I didn't... I mean, yeah, i had a man crush on him because he was a nice guy and hung out with us; He made us feel welcome on their tour (as did Matt, Fred and Eddie); that's what I respected about him/them.

Nobody cares if you like Eisley's music or not... it's not for everyone. Obviously, or they'd be some gi-normous band by now. But, with all due respect... think about what and who it is you're hating. And please... get over it. Eisley shouldn't be your nemesis; they should in no way contribute to your emotional degeneracy. That's just too complicated. Life is too short.

I digressed. It's cold in Tyler. Miserably cold. I want warm feet again. Bring on the summer. Sherri is leaving us. I might cry. Please, no more hate.

The End.

(truth; somebody posted something hateful. i didn't remove it. some mod might have... i don't care... but i hate "hate".)
