THE AUSTIN SHOW

Wed Dec 31, 2003 1:45 am

Hey. It's 7:40 and we just got to our hotel in Dallas after the Austin show.
I'll post on the Austin show after we sleep.

About 20 minutes from Dallas, around 4:42am, a car swirved to miss
something in the road, over corrected and swirved into our us, hitting our
trailer...Daniel and Matt ran back 3/4's a mile to check on the other
vehicle which apparently spun several times and landed in the median...
and they fled the scene..We're all fine, we sat on the road for 2 hours
waiting for Dallas police to do a report. The trailer is a bit smashed
but...now I need to sleep. We're thankful we're ok. Traumatic but all good
bd out.

Woah, we're really thanking God that the car didn't clip us just a few feet
forward...the van could have spun out of control...seeing how we were
clipping along at 65. It's weird to be asleep and hear this loud crash and
you hold on as the vehicle shakes and you brace for the next thing...but
it never came. Awesome.

John and Cassie and Phillup were right in back of us...they swerved,
nearly getting involved also but saw the whole thing. Crazy. Matt and
Daniel ran back only to help, just in time to see the car, the damage and
watch them speed through the median to the feeder. Anyway....enuf on
this. It's just still fresh.

The AUSTIN SHOW. I think far better than the Houston show. Everyone's
shows went really well. That's a great little room. I think Daniel said there
were 320 or something packed in...(upstairs and down; the downstairs
only holds 150, so I don't know how they fit them in upstairs with all
those tables?).

Anyway, I think Eisley sounded great. The crowd was awesome. The
sound was way better than in Houston; no glitches or big problems. The
new song was even sweeter.

Thanks Houstonians and Dallas fans for driving so far to an Austin gig.
That's amazing. Can't wait for tonight.

Sorry for all the road rash detail. At least now we've slept for a few
hours. Hope it doesn't affect their performance tonight. (nahhh...) If any
Brand New fans are here tonight, Jesse's here with us; maybe you'll spy
a glimpse of the befriended rock star. He's hilarious. whatever. You're
here to see Eisley.

ok "ya'll". (we're in Texas, ok?) Pictures later. I even have scenes from
last night's trauma recorded on film. I'm glad there's no blood... Wink
Stacy was playing her guitar and they were singing a Sparkle Horse song
while we were board and we kept cracking jokes and being mad at the
cops who we imagined were eating donuts somewhere.

I heard rumor that tonight's show might sell out. I dunno if it's true. Get
there early in line...although you don't have to worry about missing
Eisley's set since they're last. bye!

introducing Eisley's new keyboard player

setting up. After this shot i got kicked out of my spot ( on the stairs ). It was the perfect spot to take pics but oh well everything's gotta have rules rules rules.

I took a shot of a fan overlooking Sherri from the balcony. I didn't get her name but she was mesmerized by Sherri ( who isn't? ). I was thinking yup we've all been there.

oh my god! i'm so glad you guys are all ok. it would be a shame for any bad fortune to befall you lovely people. you should travel with more safety, like the president. police escorts all the way. jets with escape pods and parachutes. safety foam that explodes on impact. giant kangaroos with soft pouches. whatever protects your beautiful family.

i'm very glad you're all safe and sound. happy new year to everyone in and near the dupree household.

ps - you guys can call on me anytime you need anything. i'll do my best to help however i can.

Austin Show
Austin was probably the best Eisley show I've been to in a while. It was so righteous to see you guys get to play a full set.

Thank You soo much for playing Queen Of Leaves. Although you had to nix Silver Bugs for me, sorry to anyone that really wanted to hear it. Boyd thanks for the tip to scream out my request.

I brought some friends that live in Austin who had never heard you and they were of course blown away and thanked me repeatedly for inviting them.

Shane it was good to meet you in person. Hope to see you soon at future Eisley shows.

Thank God for your safety on the way home. It sounds like it could have been a lot worse. I was getting sleepy on the drive home so my girlfriend Trina took over in Waco.

I love you guys. Thanks for the autographs. Can't wait for the full length!

Peace be with you and Happy New Year!

Does anyone have a set list from Austin? I can't remember one song. I didn't recognize it, and I couldn't hear the name of it. It was near the end of the set and it wasn't Queen of Leaves or Lost at Sea. Any help?

well, i looked at the houston setlist thing and it seemed like most of the same songs except for Queen of Leaves substitued out for the silver bugs song.........So I think that the setlist would have been something close to this, im not positive..........I dunno, had you heard Blackened Crown before? that was the older one they said they pulled out for the old school fans and cassie.......i dunno though.........and looking at this im pretty sure it wasn't in this same order

Lady of the Wood
Mr. Pine
Marvelous Things
Sun Feet
I Wasn't Prepared
Over the Mountains
They All Surrounded Me
Sea King
Queen of Leaves
Golly Sandra
Laughing City
Lost at Sea
Memories
Blackened Crown
Telescope Eyes
Tree Tops

I didn't think they played Telescope Eyes in Austin. I know Blackened Crown ... and every song you listed. Maybe I just heard the song wrong ... I dunno. I just assumed the song was Silver Bugs, because I've never heard it. I heard the last 5 or 6 songs from the Merch area, that might have messed it up. I'm confused. Shocked
