Above is a rough of the tour poster. Copy, band logos will shift. Just wanted to get something up.
•New updates. Confirmed.
•Updated, incomplete DATES
•Tour poster obligerations way below.
•List of MARKETS at the bottom of this post.
•Each support act's name is a link to their myspace page.
Hey. woah, 4 bands?!! I know what you're thinking.
i give up... what are you thinking. ok here's the deal: many
markets will have 4 bands, not all. Some of the markets will
only have 3. The 2nd slot will be split by two bands - one for
each half. I will post tour dates very soon. But for now, I can
tell you guys what I know. You might have already heard - if
perhaps aggressive promoters have already posted the line-
up on their sites. I'm working on Admat's tonight along w/
tour poster, and tons of stuff. Anyway - here ya go:
Headlining Act
Eisley
Some of you might have heard of them. They are famous
for being related. Like, you have no idea. I mean... they
are all seriously related. I think the media should pick up
on this. That's hardly not a big deal.
But seriously... it's going to be something you will enjoy;
something that if you miss, you're going to want to cut
your heads off with a dull yard hoe.
•Band is working on new music.
Why? heck. dog dang. Also tour music. What the doobie is tour
music? I know. Not you. What else... trying to pump u up.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Main Support
The Myriad
Just won MTV's breakout band of the year. Indie rock. Recently
signed to Koch records. An amazing band, actually. Listen to
their songs. o yes. And they are legit Eisley fans. I saw Eisley
on their top 8 months ago before any of this was on the table.
Lead singer - Jeremy, produced Wes Jensen's album, was
recently in Tyler to record Christie (at Rosewood Studios).
Good connection, huh? Plus we've known their manager
since 2002 and heard about their band 2 years ago. Lots of
mutual friends. Super nice guys. Good vibe. I feel like this
band is someone you will want to see/hear... early on. Tight
friends say they are ridiculous live.
By the time we're on tour, i think they'll have that mtv video
in healthy rotation. And... I think their new record will be out
by then. So... yeah, all good stuff.
•The Myriad is on the entire tour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Second Slot
(each of these bands are on 1/2 of the tour. see dates)
Melee
Label mates on Warner Bros. Catchy, pop-rock. We haven't
met these guys but they also performed at Sundance. Eisley's
A&R (who has a name-sake daughter) signed them. Looking
forward to meeting them. They're getting good plays on
myspace and I think they're going to bring some of their
peeps... which is always good.
•Melee - April 1 - 23
Vedera
Pop-rock Alternative. Signed to Epic. Toured w/ Mute Math,
Thrice, etc. Girl lead vocals in a guy band. Booked by Eisley's
agent, Marty Diamond (Coldplay, The Fray, Sigur ross, Eisley
:--), they have a Sunday's / Cardigan's thing going on. Nice.
Check 'em out.
•Vedera - April 24 - May 24
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Opening Act
The Envy Corps
Our very own The Envy Corps. Only we don't actually own
them. But you should all know Luke (a.k.a. - the envy corps);
he's been a member of Laughing City since August 20, 2003
(2244 posts); moreover, you should know their music. It's
SOOoohhhh good. We've been digging on it for many months;
Truth -should have been digging on them for years. (shame)
Signed to an imprint of Mercury Records in the UK, they're
potato-fed (•correction. CORN-fed. ) Iowa boys and they make
capital
A-mazing music. Dig back thru my journals and you'll see a pic
of Scott - drummer. He stayed and helped us load out in the rain
(in England) after the AVA show at the Astoria. He also helped us
get all the gear back to the hotel and in the bus... quite an extra-
ordinary amount of generosity I'd say. They also all came to
Eisley's show at The Barfly in London the night before.
I don't know how many shows they are doing yet. Basically
they're doing as many as they want... or their label says they
can. Their record comes out soon in the UK. At some point
they'll have to be back across the pond.
•Talked to Luke and Scott today.
They are on from April 1st - all the way to Omaha, May 5th.
Eisley drivel
Official "Combinations" Tour
This is the first proper tour for this album. Yes, we did an
acoustic run followed by an opening slot w/ buddies - the
Muted Mathematics, but those... those... oh those were
mere shadows. I suppose I'll talk more about the tour later.
We're working hard on all kinds of things. Lots of meetings,
lots of back and forth... budgets, creative, etc. No hype.
I just wanted to let you have some current news. Thanks!
I will come back to this post soon. Updates, shows, ticket
links, tour poster, banners, etc. Thnx.
•Tour Action
I am being buried with tour communication/traffic. Layers of
agents, managers, chatter, IM's, 50 emails today, discussion,
finalizing things, idea chatter, marketing, endorsements, needs,
gear, bus vs van, money, budgets, web, logos, tour posters,
admats, deal memos, etc. WB pushing - "boyd, when are we
going to get stuff on line? The tour starts in a month!" - Me -
"i don't even have final routes yet! - much less links for tickets!"
I showed Eisley the first rough draft of the tour poster at 3:40am.
They were up, of course, doing a "Lost" marathon or something.
I just got the last email from our agent saying, "talk Monday,
have a great weekend." sheesh. Maybe now I can start producing
some of this work instead of talking about it.
•Rough Tour Schedule
NOTE: You can't try to figure on dates. There are random days off,
and some dates aren't filled yet. But at least it looks like these are
the markets Eisley will be playing. Possibly 1-3 more. I just talked
to our agent and it looks like I'll be getting final dates Monday eve.
possibly Tuesday latest. Thanks!
Warning. Outdated. See new.

•Tour Title
We considered naming this tour something creative... something
other than "Combinations" tour. But Stacy felt we shouldn't. And
I agree. There's only one chance to do a full on headlining tour
for the current record. That time is now. Like every headlining
tour, Eisley will pull out old tunes... and maybe even new tunes.
I know of a favorite of mine I believe they'll play that I haven't
heard live since the Summer Scenic tour.
•Tour Poster
I chose an image from the main "Combinations" photoshoot that
we've never used nationally. In fact, we only used if locally - for
that 1 tiny, acoustic show in our home town. I'll be honest. I love
the shot. It's quirky and dorky - like the band. It is legitimately
honest and therefore worthy of tour imagery. I added a splash
of color to liven up the B&W image a bit... helps tie it in with the
DVD part of the Combination's brand (muted teal).
We were tired of 'warm' but if we were going to do a tour for this
album, we needed the graphic standard to be pinned directly to
album art. Make sense? (the correct answer:yes) The moodier
olor gives us a face lift; shifts the previous version of this brand
face (banner, etc). As well, it gives us a cool, eerier pallet to fool
around with color on stage - sets, props, lighting, etc. Not sure
how far we'll be able to go with everything, but we're definitely
going to push things as far as we can with the limited budget we
have... which isn't necessarily very much. That's where the mother
of invention comes in. :-0
More info soon! bd
•More on Tour Routing
I now understand exactly why you wait to post tour dates until
final deal memo's are in. BECAUSE THINGS CHANGE!! I'm not
ven gonna get into it. Nobody is safe. jk. But there are towns
that dropped off. A new one added; some place in Illinois i don't
even know where is. The markets that dropped off are saddening
me. I can't even remember right now - without comparing to
my old notes, but I had 42 shows previous and now I have 39.
Don't freak out; they say my list isn't final still.
If you find promoter ads for the tour, the gig is real. Maybe that
will help some of your feelings. Also... not that you knew which
clubs I had on rough routing but... clubs have changed too. Like
in Nashville, it's the dreaded "City Hall"... ahhhh!!! jk. (eisley
has bad memories). It's big, it's concrete, it's... not designed for
sound. Also, House of Blues in Dallas. House of Blues San Diego,
etc. El Rey in LA. Oh, all the Florida gigs are safe.
Anyway. Supposed to get more updates tomorrow. Oh, Now San
Antonio has a gig. woot. I'm apologizing in advance for fans in
markets who thought they were getting the tour. Never again.
mum until final route. bd

Here are sloppier formated updates. Most are the
same. The Texas dates are all going to happen but
since they aren't confirmed Just understand they
are a given. There might be a few dates added at
the end but it's starting to shape up. I don't have
links yet but i'm assuming that most of these clubs
will start to promote and get on Ticketmaster, etc.
Disclaimer: If any of the "pending" dates don't happen,
it's just the way the touring ball bounces. I have no
control over these things. I know there are already
some disappointments. We're bummed that Envy
Corp isn't playing the last show - Des Moines. That's
their home town.
It's not their fault. Anyway... glad
some of you Texans will get to hear them.
btw - the band is more excited about this tour than
any other tour since the beginning.
