Eisley is a band that needed new photography. Chris Phelps is a great photographer who needed to shoot... a band. Since we returned from our last tour, Chris and I began talking about working together on a project. He's a friend who's now living in New York - studying photography at the School of Visual Arts (Manhattan). It helped that he has been a friend of the band for a while and was back home in Dallas for the Summer. Seemed a perfect match. We all got together the day before the shoot, had a creative meeting, went scouting, and just at nightfall, stumbled across the perfect little spread of land.

We drove all over and pretty much struck out. But as it started getting dark, we were cruising down 110 at dusk gazing out over acre after acre... and finally saw the very picture perfect image of what was in our heads. It was someone's land... but who's? We were prepared just to get out of the car and knock on some's door. About that time we passed a house on a hill and I said, "Wait a minute guys!... I think I know who owns this land... I worked with her for years in the design business (Norman Holcomb).

Short story - short - I called her, she and her family said, "come on over... you can drive around, have the lay of the land... come and go as you please.... shoot all you want!" (not their cows). We pulled into the gate of her ajoining land and right in front of us was the tree we were looking for. Small miracle. We made plans to hit the site about 10:30am the next morning... and did.

At some point soon, I'll tell you why I wanted to get fresh pics and something about the theme. It's not really important and this batch of crappy Blackberry images are just a tease. In no way to they resemble actual shots from the shoot.

I'll put one of the less important good-vibe shots up on the band's myspace/facebook soon. Things are very stagnant there, as you might have noticed.

From the Day Before

That afternoon (before) we went driving around scout'n for a place to do a shoot.

Evening came upon us.

Kep' gitt'n darker. DTH - friend from Dallas assisted Chris,
shot some video and helped all around.

Afternoon quickly turned into eve.

coffee is always the critical foundation to business and pleasure.

Undisclosed Procession
The episodes happening behind the veil are lively and productive. Things are moving forward. Again - we appreciate your patience during this time of veiled coversion. Again - once the foundation is reconstructed, the new world will promise much change; for example - on-line merch. No more of what WB did during the last 2 record cycles. That's a promise. That site just sat there rotting - void of merchandise but filled with old crappy video's. It's going to take a bit of time to get things in order, but eventually - yes.

Eisley starts working on demo's this week!

That was great! Like a story told with pictures, with a nice payoff at the end! Thanks!

I'm so sorry to hear that the band was shot. That is terrible. I hope they make a speedy recovery.

Also, East Texas really is beautiful. But far too hot.

love,
