All who agree Fall is the best time of the year turn orange and drop to the ground.

I know what you're thinking. We're sick people if we just let pumpkins decay in our front yard. Ok... so.

Think again.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
By now, you're wondering where the next post IS that will tell you guys ANYTHING to do with the recording or shows or plans or labels or blaggity-blah-blah... but I don't have any of that for you. Actually, Sherri's post inspired me to toss up something... but nothing i have to say is nearly as cool as that. I love her images. NOT because of whatever you're thinking. jeeze... sometimes i wish i had a different last name the way u behave. lol. I'm really just a friend of a distant relative. I really use to produce the Ed Sullivan show; I'm just trying to get them on "Lawrence Welk". Because I like bubbles. Weston and Garron could learn to juggle and the girls could twirl plates on their noses. Then they'd really be the next big thing.

RECORDINGS
Three songs are finished and boy do they sound. I didn't say how they sound, I just said they do. But they must... Because a very-very vip said this one song named, "______ ____ ___ _____" was one of the best ____ songs they'd ever heard (use secret decoder ring to decode). I thought that was a really big compliment. And I'm not lying. But then again - that came from an official industy person. Oh - and also, at the label _____ _____, a few people at the top were ecstatic and loved the songs so much that they upchucked their sausage burrito's. jk.

So - yeah, we're getting the reaction we thought we would. You know - the regular OH MY's!! and vomitous upheaving (in a good way) which was what we were planning all along... all part of the strategy (to make music; of course it's a strategy... it's the product, the art, the magic... baby; baddah-bing, yeah baby... it's got that got an up-beat tempo cool cat, it's really up the ladder)! My point - they always say that. All that matters is you guys.

An American Symphony
Anyway, the songs... yeah. What else. Oh - we have to make a video to promote the Mateo Messina Symphony gig ( http://www.eisley.com/journals/trolleywood/_35207/ )in Seattle coming up soon - Nov. 7th. I mean... we don't HAVE to... but I insist. So look for that soon. It's just going to be one of those: "Hi we're Eisley and blah... blah... blah... our heads turned into pumpkins and we carved out our heads and now we are jacko-eisley-headed... and just to be perfectly honest, we're worried you won't think we're attractive anymore but won't you still love us if we can make good music for you?"

I have nothing to say - and after that last-long industry post (with the new studio video), I really should make this short. I had to mow and weed eat today... rather, I GOT to; but sadly, it's probably the last time I'll get to this year because then all the leaves will fall and the freezes will come and all the grass will die and that'll be that. I should go to bed. My mom and dad are coming tomorrow. And that's pretty exciting. And Kim made gumbo again. That's almost just as exciting (sorry mom). I am actually already full from Gumbo - just from doing taste tests... and it's not even cooked all the way yet. Them onions are still chewy. But still... sha', das sum good gumBO, yeah...

Ya'll pass a good nite. bd

Your posts have really refreshing effect on a Sunday morning like this one (though it is almost lunch now) (: The "We are jackolanterns... boo-boo-boo" would make a good Halloween song. If it isn't one already.
I'm very excited about the new songs though I know I won't hear them soon. It's good to know they are finished.
Nice pictures and thanks for updating. (:

so, question. the Lawrence Welk Show reference didn't have to do with the recent SNL skit with Anne Hathaway, did it? if so, rock on! and if not, then go to the link i'm posting. it's hysterical. SO funny. Laughing

1. There is a "We are Jackolanterns" song. It is very cool... Very old; like a folk song.

2. Yes I was referencing the Saturday night live skit to make people think I was cool... But I am not since I used to see the real show on black and white tV in the 60's. Smile

Thanks for the post, Boyd! It's always nice to see a new journal. Very Happy

Well, I can honestly say that the EisWood video clip has definitely got me over the moon for the new stuff, even if it was just a rough 17 seconds clip. Eisley never stops surprising me, which is so important since there's so much predictable, formulaic music out in the world. So thanks for making different, cool, amazing songs. Smile

Is Eisley going to record the rest of the LP at Rosewood or do y'all have to go somewhere else?

Even in it's advanced state of decomposition, Christie's pumpkin still rocks!

snl clip. silly actually but weirdly amusing.
Cool - Anne sings better than the snl guys.

btw - it's always a bit frustrating - wanting to talk about way more than i do/can. Next year is jumping up and down but here in Fall 2007 - we're having to sit on our hands a bit. Don't worry; in a depressed economy, people still smoke, buy beer, eat at McDonalds and listen to music.
