Happy Thanksgiving
Fri Nov 28, 2008 3:26 am
I wanted to post this earlier but didn't because I figure - all I ever do is work. Spending time with my amazing family was actually more important than getting on line. I am so thankful for them. I didn't take any pics really... but here's a couple just to prove to you that we celebrated. I was an amazing day... not working; hanging out. HOpe you guys had a great day too. Sorry that our food was way better than yours. Kim doesn't just make ordinary tasting entree's. Hers are are packed with flavor X 10 (XX) We also had a Greenbug turkey (http://www.gobblegobble.com/) - as touted (made famous) by Oprah... right here in Tyler, TX. I mean - good for you if you cooked your own. I'm just sorry it doesn't compare to what we eat every year... smoked, moist, stuffed with pepper/garlic... mmm. And Stacy's sweet potato casserole was perhaps my second favorite. It's like a dessert. No, it's way better than yours. No, I'm serious. It has this thick layer of pecan and brown sugar stuff on top. mygosh. And Kim's apple pie. It's better than yours. No - I hate to put it that way. I'm sorry. No I'm not. I'm thankful. btw - that's how she roped me in. No joke. Anyway - all the other foods she makes are the best of the best. Lucky us. But don't feel bad. Be thankful for what you have. It's probably decent... just nothing like ours.
We had pumpkin, pecan & apple. all the girls helped make a million things.
Canine News Flash
CLEO'S LIFE IS ABOUT TO CHANGE FOREVER
yep. We decided to get a new boxer... the very thing that will lengthen Cleo's life. This is going to be interesting. At least we'll all have to stay up with her while she's whining and barking from missing her mom and family; because we'll all be up. Because i already told you we're vampires, and since Collin named her "Bella", maybe she'll be a vampire dog.
Taken a few weeks back (see date)
Taken a few days ago (see date)
In exactly 1 hour, we are picking her up at the Starbucks parking lot here in Tyler, Texas. The lady is coming to do her post T-day shopping with the "crazies in Tyler" so she's getting here early. We're still up hanging out, eating, watching movies, etc. What a day. But yeah... Cleo has no clue she's getting a sister; might feel more like a daughter. We'll find out. She will be jealous of the tiny reverse Brindle Boxer.
Collin has been waiting for months for this hr. The first puppy turned out to be a boy, not a girl so we had to wait for the next litter. Finally the next liter was born and we picked one... but shortly before they were weened, all the puppies were accidently killed; apparently the vet gave them the wrong medicine for worming. Very sad. Like over 20 puppies died.
. I hope and pray you will one day get to taste something even close to Kim's food. But my faith isn't that strong. Still - I wouldn't worry. What you don't know won't hurt you. Just go on thinking your food is awesome... it's the least you can do... be thankful for the mediocre food your mom makes (i'm kidding) and make sure you marry someone who is awesome. At staying married. And at cooking. And everything. But be thankful even if you don't get any of that stuff in a spouse.
So if since I'm not going to sleep before 4:00am, mmm... doesn't leave much since we leave for Houston in the morning (way North of Houston) after I get a tire fixed at 8am. btw - sorgum syrup is good... like Ribbon Can Syrup. wow. That's the best if you're from the deep South. ok? You can buy it. Your mom can't make it. Kim should make a recipe book. Well, time to doodle wolly gollum. bye bye nite. bd
