EISLEY SHOW APRIL 23rd

Baylor University
Date: April 23, 2009
Location: Baylor Field
500 Speight Ave Campus Box 97074
Waco, Texas 76706-1458
254 - 710-2371

Eisley headlines. The band will be previewing new songs from their new record (in the works) for the first time to a Texas audience (yee-haw). Note: you do NOT have to be a student to come to the show. You only have to be a human. Earholes are prefered but not required. You do NOT have to have money. The show is FREE.

No confirmation on openers yet, but I believe a dude from Nashville (Dave Barnes) is playing and I will have information on other openers soon.

We weren't planning on taking any offers yet and will likely take no more until our first tour shortly before the record drops (big shots say "drops"), but everyone was really just feelin' it. Why? a.) It's a 2.5 hr drive for us b.) it's a college gig c.) gives the band a chance to say hi to Texan fans and try out new songs without the usual hype that comes from the momentum of a tour d.) everyone is tired of the sitting around on their _sses waiting to track this freaking RECORD!

THE RECORD

The band officially enters the studio to begin tracking the entire record on March 2nd.
Pre-production officially begins 2 weeks out from that. So... yeah, I don't mind saying we're excited. There are songs 2 tracked; they only need eisley sprinkles added, 2 more slated for tracking = 4 songs leaving only 8 more songs to select of the 35 remaining to choose from. Them's are good odds. I love way more songs than we can fit on one album. Looks like there'll have to be an ep somewhere along the way. Smile

Chantelle. Rosewood Studios. Tracking begins March 2nd - Officially.

THE CHRISTIE BAND

I included this because members of Eisley are in the clip. The audio is pretty crappy. I was up on a ladder in the middle-back where people were mumbling. Also, Mark said that speaker is krunked. But Christie sang beautifully and made lots of people tear up. Chauntelle harmonized like a bat with butterfly wings (a stacy/sherri composite beast) and Weston and Garron beat/thumped, Todd played his guitar.

That's it. Have a great weekend. Nobody will check this blog on weekend so I'll expect a couple of posts on Monday! cya. - bd

A 12 song third album, eh? I can deal with that. Smile I'd, as well as most people I'm sure, would love for it to be longer though. An EP will more than do if one gets released though!

12 song record is not in stone. I just know the band is not interested in narrowing to 10, like before. You get more than 12 and people start yawning, critics start hating, butterflies grow wasp thoraxes with stingers... but who knows. There are no rules.

I don't know how many new jams the band will play. but if it's 2, it's 2 more than you've ever heard!

Chauntelle and Christie sounded real sweet. Looking forward to hearing more Chauntelle on the new album (hopefully).

whose going to be producing this new album? is it going to be self-produced? it is of my humble opinion that eisley's best stuff is always self-produced Smile

Once I brain-blocked the background noise, the clip was simple, sweet and lovely. Not a trace of groundhog flavor. Craving more. Smile

Boyd,
Hi, it's wheelchair-and-service-dog Hilary Smile
(I was nice talking to you again at Christie's show!)
First, your video of her turned out infinitely better than mine. Our video camera= old and sucky. Even in "HQ" it is only youtube-grade. Second, there is a 90% chance I will be at this Waco fiesta.
