EISLEY SHOW APRIL 23rd

Baylor University
Date: April 23, 2009
Location: Baylor Field
500 Speight Ave Campus Box 97074
Waco, Texas 76706-1458
254 - 710-2371

Eisley headlines. The band will be previewing new songs from their new record (in the works) for the first time to a Texas audience (yee-haw). Note: you do NOT have to be a student to come to the show. You only have to be a human. Earholes are prefered but not required. You do NOT have to have money. The show is FREE.

No confirmation on openers yet, but I believe a dude from Nashville (Dave Barnes) is playing and I will have information on other openers soon.

We weren't planning on taking any offers yet and will likely take no more until our first tour shortly before the record drops (big shots say "drops"), but everyone was really just feelin' it. Why? a.) It's a 2.5 hr drive for us b.) it's a college gig c.) gives the band a chance to say hi to Texan fans and try out new songs without the usual hype that comes from the momentum of a tour d.) everyone is tired of the sitting around on their _sses waiting to track this freaking RECORD!

THE RECORD

The band officially enters the studio to begin tracking the entire record on March 2nd.
Pre-production officially begins 2 weeks out from that. So... yeah, I don't mind saying we're excited. There are songs 2 tracked; they only need eisley sprinkles added, 2 more slated for tracking = 4 songs leaving only 8 more songs to select of the 35 remaining to choose from. Them's are good odds. I love way more songs than we can fit on one album. Looks like there'll have to be an ep somewhere along the way. Smile

Chantelle. Rosewood Studios. Tracking begins March 2nd - Officially.

THE CHRISTIE BAND

I included this because members of Eisley are in the clip. The audio is pretty crappy. I was up on a ladder in the middle-back where people were mumbling. Also, Mark said that speaker is krunked. But Christie sang beautifully and made lots of people tear up. Chauntelle harmonized like a bat with butterfly wings (a stacy/sherri composite beast) and Weston and Garron beat/thumped, Todd played his guitar.

That's it. Have a great weekend. Nobody will check this blog on weekend so I'll expect a couple of posts on Monday! cya. - bd

Someone asked about production/producer. The last "EisWood" clip tells the story. There will be many windows into the process throughout tracking so, you'll be able to peer in and feel more connected than in the past. The answer is: this will be Eisley's album. That's why they asked Gary Leach (Rosewood) to produce. Gary is brilliant; a producer, an engineer, a writer, a player... for 30+ years... with 16 million scans under his belt. He's been a fan of this band since the first ep, has a unique personality, skill-set, understanding of music (Beatles, Fleetwood, Yes... Radiohead, Arcade Fire, etc.) to pull the best possible energy, creativity, passion out of Eisley.

Awesome news!! It'd be about a 5 hour drive to Waco from my house, but if possible, I will try to make it! =P

And wow, that's a beautiful video of Christie. It's about time she made her own album... Very Happy

I think a time range is a little more important than a song number range. I think the biggest complaint I heard against Combinations was its running time ...

ANYWAY, if I can convince bands to give me money in April, then maybe I can make that show, too. Hey, it worked for Christie's show! Very Happy

Well I'm like 90% sure I'm going to Waco. And I live in Oregon! Laughing My buddy, too. You might remember us, Boyd, we're the two guys from Portland that pretty much follow you guys to every show you do in the Northwest.

This is going to be awesome.
