Eisley Recording Update!

Sherri's hair is turning... slowly evolving back to natural

Well on the Way
Eisley is edging toward the precipice of the next great unknown era. The past year might have seemed a long, counter-productive expanse of wasted time. Not entirely. Much of what was happening related to Warner Sire shift, song-writing, recovering from shiz > rebuilding on many levels.

Regardless, things are moving forward. Optimism is increasing with every conversation w/ the label; excitement is building as every track is recorded. See the eyes in my head? See the world spinning 'round... (well on the way). Hey, if I'm the Fool on the Hill, you're the Walrus (sitting on a cornflake, waiting for the van to come...?). jk. But seriously...

Reports of positive change might come off as foolishness to some of you historians and contempt / sarcasm is to be endured to a point but keep in mind - "I wanna be a big rock star" was nowhere at the top of Eisley's dream from the beginning. And, hey - it might happen but I am still convinced that slow growth and longevity is what makes sense, brings smiles to people. Creating art that moves artist/audience... having virtue, longevity, credibility, being real, building connections w/ people... these are reasonable, tangible, positive ambitions.

Artists who comprise the daunting head of the long tail might have more ambition... more insecurity, might have been pushed more, might have co-writers, more sex appeal, enjoy more success than the banal, fatigued, struggling artists clustered in the middle of the diminishing tail but I honestly believe true fans of music give no respect to status, affluence. What you adore, you respect, keep close, nurture, love... support. The point to all of this head in the cloud rambling is: enduring brands survive because they are beneficial to people; they bring joy... they help, they add value to people's lives. Goo goo ga joob.

This is no concession
If I have a foolish grin on my face, it's because the confidence we feel has little to do with whatever status the band has or hasn't reached. New beginning's ignite hope. New songs stir emotions. Eisley's world has improved and that means good things. News of touring, new product, new music, a new merch site soon... probably news this week (stay tuned to Twitter).

Biz-ness
I think labels are finally figuring out that bands are the product... the pearl of great price lies within the people. There will be new products, tours, ideas, benefits (to fans) that break convention and nurture new paradigms as things move forward. Not promising the world but I am in a position to see/experience the reality of the situation. The chasm between our former relationship w/ wb and our new one is evident. We are already fully engaged, working w/ many dept's, having creative meetings with merchandising, marketing, executive level, new media, etc. As mentioned, there will be news soon - on many levels.

THIS PRESENT RECORD
Many songs are tracked. A complete song was tracked Friday; worked on another new one today. Much more work remains before this record is finished - B-sides, pauses, considerations, changes, embellishments, etc. At some point, yes, Eisley will turn in the record... but not until it's finished.

I know there hasn't been loads of studio media (clips, pics). We haven't really wanted to be all up in your face this time around; all that hype can be over-kill, annoying. Let's face it: video clips from the studio have had little impact over the years other than to stall, hype, provide entertainment. We've done 3 on this record so far and there will be more; seriously though... all of the blogging, reporting, inside info, pics, clips, etc aren't going to make this record good or bad, successful or unsuccessful, make you love it/buy it. It just has to be great. Right? And that's what Eisley is working hard at. On that note, I'll let u guys get back to your bizzy-ness.

This has been an eisley insiders update. Nowhere but Trolleywood.

p.s. More news later this week plus pics from photoshoot scouting, etc.

I did but couldn't tell whether he was agreeing with the sentiment about vinyl or hinting about LP3 on LP. To the Batcave and the Batanalyzer!

...wait...can you feel it?! It's a groundswell! And Eisley's riding the crest! Eisley has always brought joy to me, and if that's how you measure a band's success, then they are the most successful band in the world!

eisleyfan14203: lol. That's just a diverto-logo. It's temp. It's a phase. The old logo will always be identity central. I just grabbed the low fruit... it was on my desktop for some reason. You're good.
