Short Mid-Summer, Midwest Tour

Mon Apr 02, 2012 6:34 pm

You all remember the Mild-Mild Midwest Tour. This opportunity came about in much the same way as our lil' 2010 run. We had a few Festivals offers we couldn't refuse... so we built an easy-to-tour-in-a-van route around them.

I'm sure those living in other markets will be disappointed. We did say there would be no more touring until 2013. Opportunity knocks. Just so you know, we are starting work on our own studio so that when Sherri and Stacy return in May, we can begin working on LP4. This 2 week adventure will help us pay for it.

We'll be announcing the 12 dates around 1pm today (Tuesday). I'll post them here, on eisley.com and toss a new banner up and EVR will send out a press release.

Just wanted to thank you guys for making the Deep Space tour so wonderful. The band came back encouraged (tired, beat up from the van) and ready to tackle the world (New York and Texas were over the top). Many shows were in B markets; we didn't expect big turn outs (East Hampton, MA?).

Dallas, TX - The Granada, April 1, 2012

But numbers were up and we're so excited to be in a better place 2 years after the dangerous lapse, the awkward pause, the glorious transition from WB to EVR. The ripples from constant touring and record making are finally causing the waters to sparkle... and churn... creating waves. Thank you all for being there and caring about Eisley's on-going pursuit to be a band who makes music over a life-time.

Thanks. More tomorrow (later today).

Fantastic pic from the Granada. Regretting having had to miss the show- looks like a good turnout.

But Doesn't Thurston Moore live in East Hampton MA? Or is that North Hampton. And either way, it is right down the street from U-Mass Amherst and 30,000 young prospective Eisley fans, so whoever booked it might not have been completely out to lunch.

The studio build for LP4 is exciting news for fans, I think, if the recording success of Deep Space is anything to go by.

All good stuff. Looking forward to the results.

This is beyond wonderful news as far as I'm concerned! I had a hunch holding out a review for a feature related to an eventual tour stop was a good move Wink

Perhaps there are 30k potential fans in the college but they were unaware. A pile of hardcore fans made a show... as well as a small group of rebel-rousing, hecklers; one, who yelled, "the lead singer sounds like elmo!" at an inopportune moment.

But onto merrier topics. Yeah, this tour. Glad it seems right. We are very fearful of being invisible... again, shell-shocked from that long, dangerous pause. It was alarming to hear how many people were telling people that "Eisley broke up..." simply because they hadn't seen us come through or put out a record.

"Eisley broke up???" Confused

I could understand that if all the projects coming out now came out between Combinations & the Valley, but sheesh.

So did radiohead break up between Hail to the Thief & In Rainbows or In Rainbows & the King Of Limbs? Just checkin since they were off the road for a while with no new music for 4 years each time, like another band I love that I never assume has broken up just cause.

Starting work on your own studio? Do you mean studio album or that there is a music studio being built primarily for Eisley's use? If so, that's great for all the projects the band and its members have going on!

If you just mean new album...That's great, too! After going to the Deep Space tour in Pittsburgh, I was very excited and renewed myself in relation to new Eisley music. I know it takes time to make a good album, but I can't wait to see what they come up with next!
