Drive Day. Tucson to Tyler. 10.10.04

Mon Oct 11, 2004 2:20 am

It's not really worth the post, but... we made it home. 17 hours. How in
the world does mapquest figure on 16 hrs? We made racecar pitstops and
race car speed... averaging 5 miles per hour over the speed limit the
entire way. I don't get it. Still... after my 28 hr. drive straight from LA to
Tyler earlier this year, this drive, split between Mr. Clark and I seemed
like a walk in the park.

It's great to be home. The house was spotless, a jackolantern was
glowing on the table (sporting an eisley logo), the smell of home made
apple pie complimented the low lighting... outbreaks of hugs and tears,
smiles and laughter, a belated birthday celebration for Stacy... and
they're still in there yakking. I fell asleep next to Kim so she woke me up
to say, "you need to get some sleep". And so I will.

Tomorrow is Austin. We leave at noon for what might be 3 interviews and
load in at 6:00, sound check at 7:00 and doors at 8:00. I don't think the
show is sold out, so... get yer tickets ya'll. It's great to be back in the
great state.

I was just going to carve some pumpkins tonight. Maybe I'll carve an Eisley logo into one and put it next to another with a Mayella logo carved in it. Cause our band loves you sooo very much.

God Bless

Home, Home on the Range
Where the deer and the antelope roam...

I don't know the rest of that song, but I hope to see tons of people at the Texas shows! I can't believe that Eisley's home state shows are at the beginning of the week Evil or Very Mad

See you tonight!
I'm driving to Austin in about 4 hours! I can't WAIT to see you guys! I have been dreaming about it a lot (you know when you're excited about something like prom or your wedding and 3 months before it comes you dream it's already here. Well, I have had that dream about 7 times since I bought my tickets!!!)

Maybe I will see some other posters there too, although it sounds like a lot are going to the houston show. O well! I wouldn't mind being the One Who Came To See Eisley In A Snowpatrol Kind Of Crowd. I'm sure they will all fall in love with you and abandon their alliegances to any other band... tee hee. You could probably take over the world just by virtue of making really really good music. The Beatles did.. sort of.

Shocked <-- my face as I bask in the marvel of eisley tonight (but probably smiling too)

Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.

Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.

Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.

Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've hot him on the spot, welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

(I know it doesn't exactlly fit, but as long as we're posting songs about getting back...)
