Drive Day. Tucson to Tyler. 10.10.04

Mon Oct 11, 2004 2:20 am

It's not really worth the post, but... we made it home. 17 hours. How in
the world does mapquest figure on 16 hrs? We made racecar pitstops and
race car speed... averaging 5 miles per hour over the speed limit the
entire way. I don't get it. Still... after my 28 hr. drive straight from LA to
Tyler earlier this year, this drive, split between Mr. Clark and I seemed
like a walk in the park.

It's great to be home. The house was spotless, a jackolantern was
glowing on the table (sporting an eisley logo), the smell of home made
apple pie complimented the low lighting... outbreaks of hugs and tears,
smiles and laughter, a belated birthday celebration for Stacy... and
they're still in there yakking. I fell asleep next to Kim so she woke me up
to say, "you need to get some sleep". And so I will.

Tomorrow is Austin. We leave at noon for what might be 3 interviews and
load in at 6:00, sound check at 7:00 and doors at 8:00. I don't think the
show is sold out, so... get yer tickets ya'll. It's great to be back in the
great state.

That's the only reason I'll get to go to them ... unfortunately, distance is still lame. At least I'll make the Dallas show. If I don't make it, I'll just hide under a rock somewhere so I stop noticing how many good things I miss because of work. Confused

we Texans sensed your presence the very moment y'all went over the border.

....but in a non-creepy way.

Eisley's in Texas! Wah-OW! Texas wasn't Texas without the band residing in it. It was more like...Vermont. Vermont's so boring. Psh.

(clutches to Eisley) don't leave and turn us into Vermont.......ever again.....

Shocked (lets go of Eisley, steps back a ways)

Sorry.

Glad you guys are back and made it home safe and are reunited with friends and family! Smile
