La Zona Rosa. Austin, Texas. 9.11.04

The San Diego-ians just lost out to The Austin-oids... Dang. When the
band walked out, I thought maybe Snow Patrol had come out instead.
sheesh-dawg. Thankyou Austin. And I must say...Texas feels so good;the
home crowd, the friends, the family; ahhh... (but that's not to take
anything away from the rest of the great country and you wonderful
people in your towns and cities)

Just wanted to get the thread started. Thanks! More tomorrow. bd
p.s. i put up a few pics from the Tucson show.

-----------------

Hey. Selfishly, a great day for us. After the show last night, we left pretty early since we had to drive to Houston; hope you guys found the band if you wanted to around the merch area. I didn't get to hang very much... met a few of you. (sorry Ali for the dissing... sad)

Anyway, I can't help it... even if it sounds redundant - thank you for the
welcome home party last night. That's what it felt like. I mean...it's been
great out there on the road, but honestly, it is totally Snow Patrol's tour.
Eisley got added and it hasn't been very publicized other than our little
forum and on random venue web pages. I'm not really sure if Snow
Patrol's fan base "gets" eisley so much. I think they're sorta ok with
them, but... it's too sensitive, pretty, creative, indie or whatever for those
guys. I can see the difference in Eisley fans and S.P. fans. S.P. has an
older market... lots of longnecks raised to the air... I guarantee most of
them don't have "deathcab", "rilo kiley", "keen"... or even "brand new" or
any of the hundreds of bands that we have on our playlist in theirs. I
might be wrong. Thought t's still a good match, I don't think they're
getting it like Brand New's fanbase... or Coldplay's. Am I wrong?

Well... I think Austin's show was the most encouraging...especially
considering the Austin music scene is so cultured and gets SO much
music - that it's hard to impress these guys. Seriously, people say the
Austin scene is snobby about music; I rather choose to say they're
sophisticated and selective. That's not a suck-up statement... it's true.
Well....thanks for having the guts to adore a prettier expression of
songwriting and performance and persona. I just wondered for the first
time what George Harrison would have thought about Eisley. Or John.
Hey Paul... Wait, I swear I just now remembered that George's son has
heard of Eisley because we have mutual friends who told him. so. there.
He's also heard of the Eifle Tower I suppose. I just listened to the new
record straight thru again. I keep thinking it's really good. I should say
that it sucks so I'm not guilty of blowing it out of proportion. yeah, it's so
lame. Totally not so amazing.

We chilled today at one of my great brother's house out in Richmond. It's
huge and there's an acre with giant dogs and giant horses. We slept in
and had amazing coffee and breakfast and Wade and Chauntelle have
been messing with guitars and pedals all day. They A/B's his Tele with
her Tele. ok gotta go to the next gig. OH, that's Houston! See you tonight! bdout.

Amazing show, Me and my friend had a great time, Thank you Eisley for putting on a show that was way better than I had anticipated.

Didn't stick around for snow patrol...First time I ever paid 15 dollars for a ticket, saw one band, and walked away very happy.

Great show.

ps. Chauntelle is the most "fluffy person" I've ever seen. She was my favortie on stage eisleyoid.

My socks Were rocked OFF!
The show was great, Eisley sounds terrific live. I managed to mooch a propmtional poster. After Eisley left the stage my girlfriend and our friend left the front and tried to get ourselves some Eisley gear. Snow Patrol sounded pretty good but I really hadn't heard of them prior to this. We left halfway through their set, like many others we pretty much went to see Eisley. I got a chance to talk to Chauntelle, Wes and Jon after they played. They were really nice and ignored my lameness

A+++ for Eisley

Austin Show
My husband and I were standing right in front of Sherri with our hands on the stage - my husband joked that he could have unplugged Sherri's pedals and caused a lot of trouble. Razz When the show first started I felt so weird (we'd never been that close to a band before!) like maybe the band was watching US, tee hee! I had to remind myself that it's ok to stare - that's why they are up there and they're used to it.

Great moments of the show:

- The band taking a running leap into Mr. Pine - the enthusiasm of the band the high spirits of the crowd made the song all the more ethereal.

- Some guy yelling "CHAUNTELLE YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL!" and "YOU KNOW IT!" between songs, making her smile more, making her more beautiful.

- Weston unscrewing his water bottle and taking a drink with one hand while beating the high hat with the other (skills!)

- Hearing Memories and They All Surrounded Me for the first time. Very Happy

Stacy's hair is just the right color and shape to reflect all the colored lights behind her, framing her face in pink, blue and green - and if you tune out the rest of the room and watch while she sings things like "follow the crystal air to the snowflake village..." in that creamy white voice.. it's a picture you'll never forget.

I had to tell Stacy and Sherri how much I thought G-d has blessed them with the ability to write such amazing songs and sing them so well. I got my eisleyshirt signed on the sleeves - boy's side and girls side - And Chauntelle gave me a hug! Very Happy I'm such an eisley-loving dork! And last night was the pinnacle of eisley goodness!

Chauntelle IS Beautiful
Yes. We all know the Dupree women are stunningly beautiful. And it's really no wonder because Boyd himself is really really really ridiculously good looking. And I agree with Boyd on the Snow Patrol thing. Their audience kind of "gets it", but not totally. Snow Patrol probably isn't making much money off this tour either cause when I was at THE GRANADA in Lawrence, KS it seemed like they had paid an entire drunken choir to come sing with them. Entertaining to say the least.

i like snow patrol's song "run" or whatever, but i was kinda let down at the concert, but i was there to see eisley anyway. however, snow patrol's intro kicked some serious tail, i especially liked the thing with the spotlight on the wall.

this is the 1000th post in the "snow patrol tour" category... i feel special. yay me. <--- complete waste of space, but it means a lot to me <*wipes tears and waves dramatically to cheering crowd*>
