The End

Sun Oct 17, 2004 5:44 pm

Driving back from Lousiana last night we were discussing how much "in
denial" we were. The tour went by so fast... it didn't seem over.
Like...surely we were off to the next gig; another hotel, another
venue...on and on.

Not having closure with the Snow Patrol guys might have helped our
feelings. The Birmingham show was literally the last show. The "bouncy
balls" and the laughter out in the parking lot...driving away - yellling at
Gary and Nate while they were surrounded by myriads of fans that we
were going to mow them down if they didn't move... that was the end of
the tour.

Saying goodbye to Valerie was hard. She held back a few tears... I know
we'll never forget her. Surely we'll hook up again if we neve see the
other guys. She's an amazing merch girl and beyond.

I'm not sure if we'll ever be able to quantify the tour in terms of it's
success. Hard to know if Eisley was able to pull from Snow Patrol's fans
base like they did Coldplay and Brand New. My guess is - percentage
wise, it wasn't as quite as successful - seeing how I don't think there
have been as many posts saying " I came to see Snow Patrol, but Eisley
was amazing", but it was great having real Eisley fans show up and an
honor to get to tour with these guys. We so appreciate it. And I hope the
opener wasn't too hard to endure for any S.P. fans.

I promise I will get all the pics up on each show before it's over with... it
might take a while, but my word is my vow is my honor is my post. And,
I will make a special effort to get mp3's and QT movies up asap.

Today, I got up, woke up mr. Clark and we headed to Dallas to drop him
off. What a guy. Good times. It was the best tour so far as far as the
team....except for we missed Daniel Ellis, who is so much a part of this.
I got back, cleaned out the van, sorted through all our food and clothes,
cd's you gave us, little memories and trash. It's really over now.

I don't know what I'll do about keeping in touch with you guys. The tour
is over... and the record doesn't come out for many months. Here's a bad
chance to fall under the radar. Any suggestions? I could make random
posts in "Eisleyblog" like I used to... or if you're interested in what's
happening, I could keep something going. Not sure...

The band is enjoying home-sweet-home; it's so heart-warming. We're
soaking it in... ahhh... There's no place like home. Thanks everybody for
making us feel way more than special out on the road. You are so
amazing and I'm not sucking up. It's the truth. Meeting you guys and
making connections is what it's all about. Take care. Love, Boyd

The tour did go by fast. Thank you so much for bringing your kids into this world. Meeting the band was the highlight of my life, I am still smiling about that night at the quest club in MInneapolis. I am glad you all are safely back home for some much needed rest. Thank you all for giving us fans such a great tour, I look forward to seeing the band again and maybe this time actually talking to Boyd, although talking to Chauntelle for 10 minutes wasn't bad! THANKS and God Bless!

hey boyd-a-loyd

you know, you could always start another blog...call it 'the final countdown,' documenting the weeks between now and the album release and the next tour, maybe update it every so often like you did in the days and weeks after you came back from el lay and before ya went back there...

great to have you back! hope you're gettin' caught up on your sleep; kim and i were talkin' about that...i bet you and the girls sleep for three days...was good to see mr. weston out and about....crazy fellow...

lemme know when the coffee's on!

cheers-
joseph

Boyd, Keep us posted.....somehow!
Boyd,
I think you should definitely keep something going to keep us updated on things. Even if it is only once a week ( or every two weeks ). Don't stops the posts! Thank You Sir.

congratulations guys! it was a great tour!

i must disagree though boyd, although we didn't see people coming on the board and saying, literally, "i came to see snow patrol but eisley was amazing" there must have been a ton of newbies coming on and saying things close to that. go back through all the tour pages and you'll see what i mean. these last few weeks have definitely had the fastest influx of new boardies and i can only imagine how many new fans you guys made that just didn't join here yet. stop being so modest!

have a great homecoming, spend some great family time, kick those feet up for a while, and get some well earned rest. that goes for the whole band.

Just post whatever, whenever. Even if all y'all did was go to Shakey's Pizza (I don't know if you go to Shakey's Pizza or not. That was just an example).

You said you're going to get all the pics up on each show....and mp3's (yay) and QT movies.... That will take some time.

Mainly, just keep in touch. I can't speak for everyone (or can I?) but I've missed your posts. Alright, I'm getting out of here before this gets awkward.

It was a great tour. I can honestly say you made a new fan in me. And I plan on being a fan for life as well as introducing as many new fans as I can to Eisley's wonderful music.
