The End

Driving back from Lousiana last night we were discussing how much "in
denial" we were. The tour went by so fast... it didn't seem over.
Like...surely we were off to the next gig; another hotel, another
venue...on and on.

Not having closure with the Snow Patrol guys might have helped our
feelings. The Birmingham show was literally the last show. The "bouncy
balls" and the laughter out in the parking lot...driving away - yellling at
Gary and Nate while they were surrounded by myriads of fans that we
were going to mow them down if they didn't move... that was the end of
the tour.

Saying goodbye to Valerie was hard. She held back a few tears... I know
we'll never forget her. Surely we'll hook up again if we neve see the
other guys. She's an amazing merch girl and beyond.

I'm not sure if we'll ever be able to quantify the tour in terms of it's
success. Hard to know if Eisley was able to pull from Snow Patrol's fans
base like they did Coldplay and Brand New. My guess is - percentage
wise, it wasn't as quite as successful - seeing how I don't think there
have been as many posts saying " I came to see Snow Patrol, but Eisley
was amazing", but it was great having real Eisley fans show up and an
honor to get to tour with these guys. We so appreciate it. And I hope the
opener wasn't too hard to endure for any S.P. fans.

I promise I will get all the pics up on each show before it's over with... it
might take a while, but my word is my vow is my honor is my post. And,
I will make a special effort to get mp3's and QT movies up asap.

Today, I got up, woke up mr. Clark and we headed to Dallas to drop him
off. What a guy. Good times. It was the best tour so far as far as the
team....except for we missed Daniel Ellis, who is so much a part of this.
I got back, cleaned out the van, sorted through all our food and clothes,
cd's you gave us, little memories and trash. It's really over now.

I don't know what I'll do about keeping in touch with you guys. The tour
is over... and the record doesn't come out for many months. Here's a bad
chance to fall under the radar. Any suggestions? I could make random
posts in "Eisleyblog" like I used to... or if you're interested in what's
happening, I could keep something going. Not sure...

The band is enjoying home-sweet-home; it's so heart-warming. We're
soaking it in... ahhh... There's no place like home. Thanks everybody for
making us feel way more than special out on the road. You are so
amazing and I'm not sucking up. It's the truth. Meeting you guys and
making connections is what it's all about. Take care. Love, Boyd

Wonderful job all the way through.

You guys are amazing.
Boyd you are incredible.
Even though I am sad to see this journal come to a close,
I wish you all the wonderful heart warming homecoming (a real homecoming I mean, not just one where you are home and then up again on the road) you really deserve.

Boyd, please keep us happy with your wonderous updates! They are always appreciated!

Thanks again for all the hard work and amazing tour memories you sent us home with. Smile

now that the tour's over, you get to sleep! haha. but really, i'm glad the tour was fun. maybe eisley didn't get too many fans from the snow patrol fans, but they definitely will get fans once the album drops. Smile

suggestions? maybe you could keep us up to date on the new website and perhaps dig into the eisley vault and whip out some random clip or something. oooo, that would be cool. Shocked

I think that we should have a pre-release listening party. Say, somewhere toward the end of November. That would help pass the time, and stay on the radar.

I offer my apartment for consideration as a venue.

Thanks again Sir Boyd, for always bringing the world of Eisley right to my desktop.

hmm... all good ideas.

I like mr. joseph's suggestion - which sorta wraps up everyone elses into
one package. Countdown...or something similar. I wouldn't want every
day, of course... but I'll sleep on it. ha ha!!

We just listened to the entire record on Weston's big, honkin', system.
That was fun. Very bassy in his room. More hi's in the van. Different
depending on the system. We had close, close friends give it a listen.
They hadn't heard anything since "marvelous things" ep. After every
song, they were like, "oh, that's my favorite song"... Smile

gotta go.

if eisley wants to have a pre-release radio show, wmuc is at your disposal. after all, considering all the people we got to listen to me and andrew last night, just think of the ratings we'd get!

do like a countdown to the release..like when you did during the la recordings..week by week thing with like a few entries every week..

Or just do a fanciful account of what you want to be doing during the week. It could be like one of them old-fashioned serials where you leave the Eisley gang in some sort of peril every week--only to barely escape by the skin of your teeth the following week.
