I'm extremely excited, to say the least, to have these recordings out, but I'm kind of loving the songs' live versions more.
I like the piano on "They All Surrounded Me" but, I don't know, it's not the same.
Thoughts anyone?

I'm glad we have the recorded versions...but i first heard/memorized the live versions and like "such great heights" (postal service vs. iron and wine (my friends and I fight hard on that one)), It all depends on what you hear first.

Yeah I'll agree with that one. Like "Telescope Eyes" old v. kind of old v. new.

I voted for the recorded version. I love the live versions because of the authenticity you get with them, but it's great to hear a crisp, clear recorded version where you can hear every finely tuned detail of the song.

Obviously there are good things about both versions.

i don't have the ep... yet... but, from the samples, i like the recorded versions better. and, really, i always like the recorded versions better, no matter what the song, or band, or anything. live tracks are nice, but with recorded versions the artist gets to work them over and make sure there as close to perfect as possible.

i honestly can't vote.

well, for TASM actually the live version that was floating around (from OGG i think) sounded a lot like it has been recorded, so i was great with that.
the escaping song sounded fine too just a little fuzziness/muffley sound because of the live recording.

but now i can't get enough of these two recorded (and i also just bought HATS from itunes.. i like the way sherri changed the melody in some parts of the song) and i can't wait for sunfeet!
