Posted: Wed Jun 25, 2003 6:24 am Oh my gosh...this is confirmed. EISLEY - LIVE RADIO SHOW...at drive time on The Edge's: THE MORNING SHOW. In case you don't know...that's a very elite slot; I'm shocked. This is a prelude/set up for the Buzz Oven show... That's tomorrow morning...Thursday! They'll all be there yakking...the girls will actually do accoustic music LIVE. (I have no clue what song/songs) We have to be there at 7:00am. Not sure what time they're actually playing; will try to find out and post it here. Please listen if you're up....and call the station if you like it....(see the other post about radio test market for contact info.) Also! There will be a Tower Records "In Store" show before the Buzz Oven show SATURDAY afternoon. I'll post the exact time when I find it out. It'll be late that afternoon. Also, later down the road, but Eisley will be opening for the Old 97's for the Edge's anniversary show sometime this summer. Lots of stuff happening today...whewsh....can't keep up. Thanks. Boyd ------------------------- MY LAME REPORT OF THE EXPERIENCE hhmmm. it was good experience...not sure how they sounded on air, since I wasn't listening throught the headsets; There were only mic's in front of Stacy and Sherri's faces...no instrument mics. Stacy had this cool little Yamaha keyboard she brought with (runs off batteries); Sherri / Chauntelle just had acoustic guitars. It sounded ok in the room....of course, I video taped the whole thing as usual. Will have to go back and check it out. But, nice of the Edge to let them do that, right? dang. oh, what I was gonna say...we thought we'd die on the way up. Driving fast through the most torrential storms ever...so much rain, the 18 wheelers I was passing made me actually go under water....I mean, like 20 feet under water...and we were snorkeling...and there were fish. But, we survived.... dude. the loop is a parking lot....AT 6:20am??!!! WhY??!! I figured we'd be there so early, traffic would be later. We were late but it all wuz gud. (somehow) We came home and slept a bit more. (1:00am to 3:30am didn't seem enough....of course, those lunkers crash in the back while I drive through the night....facing the torrid, unbeatable raindrops...little rain drops, little rain drops, little rain drops...(enter laser gun sounds). I could post photos of the silly morning show....but, I'm still so far behind with the other stuff. oh well. I don't think anyone heard it anyway...who's up at that time of day? NOT THIS MARKET SEGMENT!! but there were all those cars out there on the loop; hmmm....and....WOAH, a heck of a bunch of humans had to have heard it!! But who? a bunch of boring dads?...suits?....and what... they'll tell their kids this evening when they get home: "oh, jr...um, this mornin', ah heard a reul gud combo on the radio...yoo no....while ah was wait'n for some skynerd, and..uh, wull...they sounded like nice gurls....you should go clubin' on saturdee..." Just kidding. I heard the Foo right before they went on. Maybe there were some young guys like me listening. bd ---------------------------- _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. Sir, you underestimate the fans of Eisley... I woke up just to listen to it, I sat there in my room half asleep yet I still remembered to make a tape (which I offered to send copies to anyone who wants them in a different thread.) Haha... I feel like such a fanatic. |

I woke up to listen to Eisley on the Edge....Chauntelle and Sherri did most of the talking, i thought they did well in the interview portion. They played a silly on-air game with call-in listeners, the game questions were ridiculous and Eisley of course didn't answer them very well. The performance was good, i was REALLY happy to hear them play the older version of Telescope Eyes! yay! However, i felt like the radio station did a poor job of "producing" the live performance...it was obvious not much time was spent to set up microphones or get the sound right, etc..... they did not sound too bad, but, they could have sounded a lot better! I am criticizing the radio station, not the band's performance! I guess you can't really complain though, getting radio air-time is good !!! Maybe next time around they'll set it up properly and let the whole band play a plugged-in set on the air! This time it was acoustic without bass or drums. I did record it, and can provide people with cassettes or CD-R copies if you'll send me a BNP package.....email or pm me if you want a copy! |
