saellys (i've always wondered how to pronounce that), that was seriously awesome. you should win for sure! jamie's is a close (somewhat disturbing) second, and kim, keep working and we might just see your version pull into the lead! exciting stuff! i've been watching too much olympics lately! _________________ hello. |

"Sail-liss." Everybody gets it wrong, but that's okay, 'cause it's not my real name or anything. And thanks, btw. I think Kim's version, even unfinished, is definitely better than mine. That means she gets framed lyrics, and I get to kick A&R in the tush! Woohoo! _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

I feel kinda bad actually. I'm pretty much the only one who put a comment on Sherri's Xanga suggesting alternate lyrics rather than just telling her to "stick it to the man." I can't figure out what A&R is so scared of. I guess they are determined to make that song a hit. In my humble opinion, when I last saw them in concert, there were plenty songs that I wasn't familiar with that had the words "hit" all over them. If only I knew the titles. _________________ https://soundcloud.com/kiteswithoutstrings/tracks |

I'd tell off that A&R guy just like this: When they told that wholesome little girl from the Mickey Mouse show named Britney to sex-up her image did she give in? NO! When they told, Jennifer, that shy Puerto Rican girl that was engaged to Affleck to get implants in her booty did she give in? NO! When they told that nice little Lohan girl from the Parent Trap remake that letting a nipple slip in public every now and again was good press did she give in? NO! FIGHT THE POWER! |

That, ladies and gents, is hilarious. _________________ Kyle |

ah it's all just the trappings of being a new band on the market writing its first album. as everyone knows, most bands hate their first big radio friendly song. counting crows wouldn't play mr. jones for years after their first august and everything after tour, and then when they would play it, they totally changed it up. and look at radiohead now. if they had tried to sell hail to the thief to the labels when they were first starting out no one would go for it. nowadays, radiohead could drag guitars behind a dumptruck and people would call it genious. someday things will be like that for eisley. and then, if they want to, they can play the original telescope eyes all they want, and it will be awesome for those of us who have been fans all along... |
