Being from Toronto, I always found that the indie scene up there was better than in the states. Maybe not anymore, as I haven't been there for almost 7 years...But does anybody remember the mid 90s? Pluto, Hayden, Sloan (at their peak), Hardship Post...the list goes on and on. Frustrating for no Eisley for another two weeks Im sure, but Canada pumps out enough terrific music to keep one entertained till then _________________ "drunk one night I put my car key in my house door lock, and my natural reaction was to take it for a spin. Toronto has one of the best indie scenes in the world Broken Social Scene Metric Death From Above 1979 Hayden the Tangiers Sloan is from Halifax, but they all live in Toronto now. not to mention Montreal is just a short drive away. And dont get me started on Montreal's scene. Eisley should do a show of their own here at Lee's Palace or something. I dont want to have to see them with a pop punk band. |

that'd be awesome. especially if it coincided with a trip to TO. I did that with Sloan once, but it was at the Amphitheater, and I was on the lawn. So the show was less than exciting. But cool that I got to see them twice in two months in two different countries. _________________ "drunk one night I put my car key in my house door lock, and my natural reaction was to take it for a spin. First the NHL and now Eisley, oh yeah, I almost forgot, Rolling Stone is a piece of trash. They are really good at putting out the sexual or disruptive parts of music, but when it comes to actually knowing what good music is, they have missed the boat, and Im not gonna ever take the time to paddle back and bring them with us. _________________ Check out my band, Noah Bullock, www.noahbullock.listen.to. Toronto is becoming less and less indie every year. More indie acts start playing more towards the coasts. We still get some great indie stuff, but its more acoustic/folk stuff. Matthew and Jill Barber, Greg Machperson, Aaron Booth. I will agree, we still have some prime indie bands though. Toronto and area could honestly be a huge market for Eisley. I agree though, Montreal would be massive for them. I love in Oshawa, and had really wanted to see them. But I just can't afford (college, or I would) to spend the money at a ticket only to want to see the first half hour of the show. But then I guess the hang out time after is always a hopefull possibility. Also, I guess it would be amazing early birthday present. _________________ "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." I think I got all y'all beat because the only music scene saskatoon has is that girl who maybe almost did good on canadian idol last year. _________________ guitarfreak217 wrote: Everyone, listen to Leigh.
