that was posted by boyd on 9/26/03. does that mean that TW was written almost 2 years ago? or is just coincidence?

because if it was, i didn't know that... and knowing is half the battle!

It must have been, something tells me that it wasn't a coincidence. That Boyd is a sneaky fella.

i'm fairly certain that lots of eisleys songs from the full length were written around 2 years ago, so im betting on ... no, it was not a coincidence.

yeah I think the same thing, cause in the," You Hear It FIrst" Thing on MTV they were already playin Golly Sandra, and Marvelous Things wasn't even out yet. Sp, yeah, maybe they did write em long ago. That is an awesome picture too! ::squeeks::

So that means they probably DO know how to play it and they're lying when they say they don't know how to play it at shows!

The lyrics to "Trolley Wood" were up in the Lyrics section of the FAQ since time immemorial... at least since when I joined the forum.

yeah, see, i figured that was the case.

but here's the bigger question, is there a recording of it sitting somewhere? a demo? boyd must have had it in his head when he posted that caption. i know you don't have one on OGG, but maybe there's a tape collecting dust up in the duprees attic.

i doubt it though

Looking at that little picture I think it reminds me of San Francisco. They have many Trolleys in San Francisco, though not many woods.

when i first heard Trolleywood it was inspired by Travis, countryfied sortof. i believe Boyd was the one that said it sounded travis-y. but yeah, i imagine they probably did a Garageband version of it like Lost at Sea and My Lovely. i wouldn't be surprised if they recorded a version of it during one of the ep sessions either.
