yeah, me either.

I even made my dream boyscout hat for my court of honor.

my troop always wanted a cool, non-standard, boyscout hat, and I always suggested (seriously) that we all get propeller hats somehow.

it never caught on though.

but isn't that a sweet hat?

If it makes you feel better I just bought both Eisley EP's today :)

I hate manual labor too, one time I got posion ivy from head to toe because of weeding... but that story is for another time. Good luck Mrs DuPree :) and keep your spirits up, you raised some fine children, you will get what you've worked towards in the end.

Kim,

Glad you posted the reality check.

I really enjoyed seeing Boyd in Charlotte. Getting caught up with old times and all. Of course Julie was back with the 5 kids trying to keep things together, while I got to go and hang out for the evening. We men don't give our wives enough credit for all they do.

I know the rockstar thing is far from a sure thing (just ask MC Hammer). Even with that, it is excitting to see what your kids are doing. You guys have been an inspiration for our family and are in our prayers.

P.S. Julie would love to hear from you. I'll pass on her email address to Boyd.

by then, the 'E!' will be known to stand for Eisley.
as they will be so famous that it will be a 24/7 Eisley history channel.

You know, you're only two hours-ish away from where I am. Once I get my license, I think I might actually offer to help out (that'll be in about six months... oh woe). If you ever get a break and manage your way into the more Dallas area (since I'm in North Dallas which isn't exactly closer), I could treat you and Christie to lunch sometime. It would be fun. Razz

This is kind of awkward, actually, but whatever.

Gosh, the Eisley backstory. Their history is interesting, but if I could read at least one interview where the kids aren't being asked about how they started up, it would make my day. The music is what it should be about, correct? Well, that went a bit off-topic on my behalf.

ehhhh....not ...really...the merch is sort of...funded by the label...Eisley sees...little...if any of that money. But still buy it...even though they aren't directly seeing money from mech and CD sales, the key thing to remember is that it shows WB there's interest and then they support Eisley more and Eisley sells more and then sees the money...we gotta do everything we can to make them less small

Is that true?

I know most bands I know of fund their own merch and say the best way to support them is to buy the merch at the shows. These aren't local bands either, but bands that are signed to major labels. Something Corporate is signed to Geffen and does all their own merch and has pretty much completely supported their band on the tours they have been on for the last year through merch sales.

I've heard that bands make more money by buying the merch directly from them. Why that is, I'm not 100% sure. As far as all the initial and production costs, though, labels cover that cost I'm pretty sure (pressing the albums, printing t-shirts, etc.) I'd guess they make more because when you buy directly there's no middle-men retailers taking their cut, like when you go buy it at Best Buy or something.
