I played a friend of mine Memories and she fell in love...I guess it would depend more on the person than the song...

The same happened for me. I played Memories, and she rushed out to get the cd as soon as school let out without even hearing any of the other songs.

I played Telescope Eyes for another friend, and she loved it.

I think it depends on the person. For me it was IWP. For my friend it was Marvelous Things. Memories and acoustic Plenty of Paper won over another friend. You might even just let them borrow the CD and tell them to listen to it at least once through. People react differently when their alone, and able to really decide whether they like something or not.
They'll all fall in love with Eisley eventually anyways. Wink

If they are into harder music, I'd use Telescope Eyes. If they are into more soft rock I'd use I Wasn't Prepared.

"Over The Mountains" if they are into the harder rock or hip hop stuff and "One Day I Slowly Floated Away" if they are into the mellow stuff.

As mentioned before, it really does depend on the person.

If the friend is into like.. rockier, more familiar music then I'd reccomend Telescope Eyes (Any of the versions) or My Lovely or maybe even Plenty of Paper. maybe.

If the friend is into like.. poppier, catchier stuff that won't get out of your head then maybe Sea King or Tree Tops or Marvelous Things....

If the friend is more of a country bumpkin then maybe Golly Sandra or something a bit more downkeyed like Just Like We Do or The Winter Song...

And as for a 'look I wear all black and listen to Marilyn Manson' kid..... well.. My friend Adam listened to Golly Sandra and fell in love and he only listens to Korn, ICP, Slipknot, and other bands of that scary sort.

I think Marvelous Things is a great one because it sounds like a single, yet really reflects Eisley's sound. I think it represents it much more than Telescope Eyes. I think Memories is a great one too for introducing people to Eisley.

It's really 2 things. If you want to please a big crowd, I think you got to find a song that really can be pleasing to everyone. If you wanted to show just a friend of yours, and you know that persons tastes, use that to help chose. That's what's good about bands like Eisley. They are so diverse, and they have a song for just about everyone.

For example, my favorite band is SlipknoT, and if I wanted to show someone a song to get them into it, I wouldn't find the heaviest craziest song they have because a majority of fans might not like it. I'd show them a song like Vermilion prt 2 (which is an acoustic melodic song) or Before I forget (which is a heavy versed and can be classified as heavy "hip hop" song with a singable melodic chorus) OI can even show them a song that has a whole bunch of different elements to the song (slow parts, fast parts, melodic parts, heavy parts) and IF there is part of a song someone might like, something else about the song they might like. (Like maybe they don't like the verse, but the chorus is catchy and singable and they like the song because of that)

Fast songs can easily be disliked because they are really broadened, so I would go for a slow song to show off Eisley. In my experience in music and what i've seen people go for, USUALLY no matter what kind of music people like, if a REALLY good melodic slow song is presented, and presented well, then most people get into it or to the least, RESPECT it. So with saying that, I think "I wasn't prepared" is the perfect song to introduce them to somebody or a group of people. I mean, Stone Sour wasn't and really isn't a really big and popular band, but when they presented their song "Bother" for the Spiderman soundtrack, it circulated many many radio stations and was it was highly requested by listeners. To this day, peopl don't know anything about Stone Sour, but they can probably sing the chorus "You don't need to bother...."

If they get into Eisley after showing them I Wasn't Prepared, show them songs like Head Against the Sky, which has an eerie tone and has a rock type influence in it, and then show them songs like Telescope eyes. Basically trying to hit all areas. I was watching a Deftones video when I happened to go to my friends myspace and she had "I Wasn't Prepared" playing and I was hooked.

That's my intake on it Very Happy
