So we were asked to host a Mexican exchange student next year for the whole school year. Advantages: - She likes music, plays flute and guitar. - She's my age. - I loved loved loved our Spanish exchange student this year, she is one of my good friends. Disadvantages: - I don't know if she won't be independant, and will cling to me all year. - What if she's annoying or rude and we don't get along? _________________ my name's carrie and i love a good sandwich so if you have a sandwich, come roll with me!

They were really funny, and I liked hanging out with them... but I dunno, you wouldn't think 13/15 is a very different age range, but it kind of is. They weren't like I have ever been, they were all about boyfriends and clothes and stuff (which made them really funny and fun to hang out with), but I don't think I would want to hang out with someone like that all year.  _________________ my name's carrie and i love a good sandwich so if you have a sandwich, come roll with me!

That's me for ya, playing devil's advocate If you're worried about not getting on... don't host them. If you don't get on and there's no connection between you at all, then a year is a very long time (incidently, that's the reason I've decided not to go gap yearing with one specific company: away for 12 months [way too long anyway] with a partner who you have known for about a week before going). BUt, do what you think. Okay... update on this topic: She's like, 2 weeks older than me. I can drive most of next year. She plays flute, guitar, saxophone and percussion. Her last name is the same as Omar from the Mars Volta. I'm thinking we should say yes.
