Good show overall. It was nice to see them onstage for a second time. It made a rainy AZ day quite a bit more enjoyable. It was typical Eisley for their 30 minutes onstage. Amazing, floating, simple music that was really fun to see in person.

The mix was pretty good, but not as good as it was at Red Rocks this summer(who dosent sound better at Red Rocks?). They didnt seem rattled with tech issues as Boyd mentioned they had been at previous gigs.

The crowd didn't seem to really get the music very much, which was pretty unfortunate. I blame this mostly on the type of fans that Brand New/Hot Rod Circuit attracted. No offense to the guys in both bands, or to the fans of both bands on this board, but that seems to be the most probable explanation. Granted the rain that lasted all day today makes us sunshine folks a little groggy and irratable, but Eisley should have touched more people than they did. AZ is packed with folks who know and appreciate good meaningful music, but its also packed with lots of kids who could care less that music is being played at a concert. The latter would rather go see a show so they could go to school the next day and talk about it. The latter are the kind of kids who would come to see Brand New in Phoenix area.

Enough bashing pop-punkers, time to fluff Eisley a bit more. I spent a good ammount of the evening chatting it up with Boyd, who is one of the coolest people i've ever met in the music business. I have a gut feeling its because he is not about the business, he is one of the few people who are really about the music. This man knows his stuff and he is super cool ,i even let him try my brownie. He is very thoughtful when it comes to fans, and we should appreciate it (3am road journals anyone?). The band members were also VERY friendly. I talked quite a bit with Chauntelle and Jon, both great individuals. It was fun talking drums with Weston, one of my favorite past-times:). Stacy and Sherri were very easy going also, very easy to talk to. Dan (i belive?) and their Tour Manager were great. It seemed like one big fmaily effort, which is the way a band truly succeeds.

I guess thats all, its past my bedtime;) Kudos boys an girls, and thanks for a good night!

Eisley hangs near the merchandise, from my experience. Not exactly at, but close. You can find Boyd because he's the guy with the video camera. They're great about meeting people, so keep your eyes open and you should find them
Good luck.

Hey there drum man!

It is really cool to see that there was someone else there who "got Eisley" in the words this forum tends to use. I really had an awesome time at the show. I don't know if you saw a guy in a green jacket and hippie hair rockin out and swaying back and forth, but I was right in the center about five rows back. I was surrounded by short girls so I could see!! Ha ha. Anyway, the few times I looked around I noticed no one else seemed into it at all. That kinda stunk. I concur with your analysis of the Phoenix scene.

Anyway, back to the band. I got to meet Sherri and Stacey. We didn't get to talk for long cuz ole Hot Rod fired up and she had to run. She was really nice and I would have loved to talk to everyone more. I really wanted to talk to Stacey about her love of CS Lewis. That is awesome that you got to talk to Boyd. I wanted to thank him too. I have already plugged him for president! Smile. I waited around for awhile after the show, but apparently they had taken off to LA to shoot a video today or something. There is always next time I suppose. Keep on rockin Eisley.

I'm afraid I found the other two bands thoroughly uninspiring. I just had to say it. I can't wait for Eisley to headline so the set will go on forever!! Smile

Actually Brand New had some pretty good lights. They seemed to almost be compensating in my opinion. I stood back behind the light guy and watched his magic. After the show I thanked him and he seemed to be really pumped, so I was happy to make his day.

Peace

That's good that they got to use the lights. I saw him briefly in Austin/Houston and he was bummed that he couldn't do anything with the small venues.

I don't think they're compensating, they put on a nice show.

Hot Rod Circuit was pretty bad. Im sure people there enjoyed them, but thats just not my thing. After their set a friend called me up and we were gonna go put some time in on our accounting project, which at the time sounded like a way better idea than watching another band that isnt half as good as Eisley play in the spot that Eisley deserved (though there probably went many people at the show that felt the same way as i did). I was about halfway into the parking lot when my night got REALLY cool!

I think i MIGHT have seen you when they were outside before HRC came on. I was talking to Jon at that point. Can't really pice it together though. Too many cold pills.
