Well....my mom and I (how embarissing is that? no friends to go with me)...went to the gig last night. There was a large number of ppl there who were there for the sole purpose of getting drunk...although I did hear ONE conversation between two ppl that liked good music, but I didn't bother trying to talk much to them b/c I'm just not good at including myself in conversations and making friends that way. Pilotdrift and Lovedrug were awesome! In my opinion, it's unfortinate that Pilotdrift says they might tour with the Polyphonic Spree in the future (I'm not a fan of that group). Eisley did an awesome set - I can't remember all the songs, nor in what order they were in, but they sang: I Wasen't Prepared, Telescope Eyes, The Laughing City, Golly Sandra, Head Against the Sky, Just Like We Do (forgetting the words of the first verse), The Tree Tops, Vintage People, Memories, Marvelous Things, My Lovely, The Escaping Song, Trolly Wood,Paper Pieces (and I PROMISE you that when they announced they were going to sing Plenty of Paper, they'd said it twice and absolutly got NO REACTION from the audience)...but yet the audience knew of Trolly Wood, Marvelous Things, Laughing City (b/c ppl kept shouting those out as requests). After the gig, I got the Eisley cover art shirt (feels so soft!), and I got Lovedrug and Pilotdrift's albums... I felt a little offended that when I intro'd myself to the Lovedrug singer, he shook my hand and said "uh...yeah" - It made me wonder if he dosen't like ppl with obvious vision problems... but...I probably shouldn't hold it against him, it was like 12 in the morning by then. When I got Pilotdrift to sign their album I didn't even bother to intro myself (figured they wouldn't care either). HOWEVER - Sheri, Stacy, and.... (omg - what's the guy's name in this band?)... they were all very nice and personable. I'd asked if they'd ever put out a songbook and they're not sure if they will. I got two pics taken with them and they were sooo sweet to sign my three cd covers (I just wished they would've thought to personalize them! Uusualy I meet bands in person and when they take time to talk to me, they also sign the cd to me). but anyway...I LOVED meeting them last night! Awesome show too. |

before the show in d.c., one of the lovedrug guys came up to me and introduced himself...although i forget his name now and feel sort of bad about it. |

Did your mom enjoy herself too? yeah she did, thanks. She never says anything about their music when I play it in the car,...but after the concert she told the dude from Lovedrug that she liked their performance, and then when she went up to Eisley Sheri asked my mom her name and asked what she thought of the show, and she's like, "I liked it y'know, you're music is very meldic and... except for a few songs where you were jamin out or whatever... but yeah I liked it" (lol, my mom's not too great at expressing herself!) I feel a bit guilty though for not telling them I liked the show or anything. I did shake their hands again before we walked off and I wished them well on the tour. |

Did your mom enjoy herself too? you have cute blogs btw. I thought of doing one at MySpace ...but I like Blogger better b/c it's easier for me.. and plus you can do audio there. I was REALLY hoping to record when I me Eisley, and have it appear on my blog...but I'm so unaquainted with the AudioBlogger service that I forgot to push the pound key on the phone...and thus I don't have the audio proof to last us for years.... sucks!

I agree! that guy is SO nice, a very genuine guy. we walked around outside for a while and talked about music and stuff after the show at the quest. he's a cool dude. I was at the show at The Parish as well, and was quite impressed. It was the first time I had a chance to see Eisley live. The venue was pretty nice and intimate, although I can understand why it was really hard for them to get the sound mixed properly in there. The crowd wasn't the best, but there were a fair number of true Eisley fans there. I was pleasantly surprised though to find the band at the merch table before they played, and to get a chance to overhear them interact with a few fans. It made me wish i could have met them after the show. They're also one of the only bands i've ever heard that thanks the crowd after pretty much every song they sing. Kristina7, on a more personal note, thank you and your mother for selling me one of your extra tickets. I had a chance to talk with her a little before, during, and after the concert and I think she enjoyed herself. I was hoping to be able to stay and say hello to you, give my thanks in person, and meet the band, but I had to leave a few songs before the end of the set to get my parents home in time for work the next morning. Such is life though i'm afraid, and I was lucky to be able to stay as long as i did. |
