 Post subject: I glimpsed a bat with butterfly wings...Posted: Fri Jul 15, 2005 8:09 am 
I submitted this tshirt design to threadless.com for the Eisley loves threadless contest. They denied it because they said it didn't apply to the theme "Room Noises" even though I designed it specifically for the song Marvlous Things on that album. I was just wondering what you think. EDIT: Go here to cast your vote on the design. It would be much appreciated :D |

I like it! I don't get their standards for whether or not a design applies. I think there's too much wiggle room and they can deny whatever they want. This should have been included, because Eisley fans (and anyone who's heard the record) would understand.

Orange Gold and Green (see the link in my signature) is the fansite I run with Andrew (granpaturtle) and Chad (chasd00). The Fans Submission section is where Eisley fans can submit wallpaper, icons, fanart, Eisley-inspired poetry/fiction/essays/general writings, and song covers to be hosted on OGG.

i don't get it... why is threadless denying submissions? i think your design is awesome and would totally buy it! has threadless even listened to the album? so far, 2 (that i know of) have been denied. there are some that are still on there that i think shouldn't, but they all deserve a right to be on the list for the public to decide. |

The people over at threadless must have gone batty... the majority of the designs for this shirt contest so far have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Room Noises... Have any of those designers even heard the album? Am I not getting something here? |

That's awesome. I drew my own bat with butterfly wings once haha, but it wasn't nearly as good. It seems as though most of the entries that got accepted are taking the "Room Noises" thing a little too literally. Rather then using the concept that Boyd explained about how the band and the music started in the rooms of their house, they're using irrelevant things like snoring or microwaves.
