... meet bands after the show? I think that I may be more outgoing than I think, or something. With all the 'How can I meet Eisley / How can I get Eisley's autographs' threads on eisleyblog, and with the fact that I recently had to drag a friend with me to meet some (rather unknown) bands after a Celtic Rock concert, it's making me wonder what percent of people who watch a band actually make a point to meet and thank them afterwards (not to mention get autographs, pictures, or give gifts). When I saw Eisley, everyone cleared out within a few minutes after the show. There were all of maybe ten to twenty fans left (out of the original five hundred) scattered about the building that actually waited for the band to come out of the dressing room. If I've really enjoyed a band's show and I'm a big fan, I usually at least make an attempt to see them afterwards. If there's a line, I'll wait. Of course, if a band seemed to want to be left alone, I wouldn't approach them, but I really can't think of a time that's happened. SO! Do you try to meet bands after shows, or just leave? Also, is it out of character for you to make a point to say hello to someone, but you kind of transform into a different person during live shows? _________________ ♥ Love, Jamie ♥ |

You'd be surprised how many people will remember you and will remember your name and many facts about your last meeting. I always try to meet the band members to make them feel like I care and it makes me leave with a better impression of the band. of course, some band members won't even talk or ask your name, but many others will and it's worth my time to meet them. _________________

it depends on so many factors. if i really want to meet them, then i would try. case in point: i could've eeasily met the blood brothers, but i had no real desire to. they were good live, but i didn't reall care to gush about how great i thought they were. i figured they'd find that boring. _________________ http://thegirlinthebearhat.tumblr.com/ |

I would say I meet about 80% of the bands I see because where I live is basically a party town so bands come here and relax more than they probably usually do for example I sat talking with ted Leo and drummer Chris for about 3 hours before their show at a table right out the front of the venue. The venues where I live are all very laid back as well, especially compared to sydney where I grew up,so much so that they'll let anybody in with cameras etc...and the bands always come out to the bar after the shows and have a drink with the crowd I don't really give a crap if they remember me because it's just a nice moment and makes the gig more special _________________

I try to meet bands just for the experience, and whether they remember me specifically doesn't really matter - at least they'll know they got a nice response and be willing to come back again. _________________ ♥ Love, Jamie ♥ |

Most of the bands I listen to have either broken up or don't tour where I live. If I can I try to meet the band though. _________________ Coprophiliacs make sh*tty lovers. Flickr Transvaal IV - Myspace : Virb Deep Thoughts About Shallow Subjects |

For the most part, I make it a point to meet the band/s playing. It all depends on who it is. _________________ Thistledown |

I usually do... or at least try to. I stick around longer for some bands though... like Eisley. But sometimes it's not up to you because some bands just don't show up. Like Taking Back Sunday. |

hm i'd probably pick more than one of those options. it really depends. certain bands i always try to meet (eisley, etc.) almost every time ive met anyone from a band, ive said something stupid, i think the only exceptions are Eisley and Straylight Run. but mostly, when i leave and dont meet the band because its too late, im too tired or whatever, i alwyas regret it afterwards. Last month, i saw Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and first of all, i was dieing from heatstroke. But the cool hair guy from TV on the Radio was there, and i REALLY wanted to say hi to him, and to Ted &RX. But even though after the show tv radio guy was chatting it up with people i got nervous and just walked right by. and i missed ted too! so im mad at myself _________________ Julie Do you believe in something beautiful? For me it totally depends. but i stil put the first one, tho it'd be a mix of the 1st 2 choices. time depends cuz my parents usually pick me up. But i do enjoy staying if i can and one time it was definately worth it cuz i met some guys and i saw em 2 days later. _________________ this is my signature rawr! My livejournal Myspace? |

Bands are really used to people saying stupid mushy stuff to them. You're no different than the other hundreds; I say go for it! i agree i'm suprised by how many people either don't care to meet the band or are afraid to. i like to hang around, chat a bit, grab a cell phone number then run home and tell you guys _________________ welcome to the no pants club boone |
