Yes. She looks gorgeous...but, note that it's only because she's wearing my 8th grade gym shirt from L.J. Alleman in Lafayette, Louisiana. And careful scrutiny will bear truth to this fact - my name, though fading, is still readable. Also, what makes the video so hot is my '64 Rogers Holiday drum kit. Those are sorta the two best things about the video... Grass. Yes. Superglued on by the stylist. Or maybe it wasn't superglue. I dunno. On a bigger screen, like when it's on mtv or whatever, you can tell it's not black scars or evil, black spiders. Stacy didn't look like herself really...and they didn't get any good shots of Chauntelle, who also looked amazing that day. oh well... Glad you guys are being so kind with your critiques. I wasn't sure, at all, what to expect. We were harder on it than you guys. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. of Chauntelle, who also looked amazing that day. I also loved the concentration on Weston's face during the clip,he looks so damn cool same with the shot of Jonathan with the hose was great toohe always looks so relaxed,I think the 2 guys need some more recognition, they just look so laid back & cool...they rock ,the shot of sherri sitting on the trampoline and side view with her microphone was really cute and Stacy(who looks really grown up ) with the toy was also awesome, she can look really serious and cute at the same time _________________ |

I really liked the video but would liked to have seen a little more edge in it. I don't know... something a little dark. Maybe a thunderstorm rolling in or something. Maybe I'm just fond of thunderstorms... being from Texas and all. OK, I'll be quiet now before I incur the wrath of my boardmates. Don't get me wrong though... I liked it a great deal. But boy, I really love that song. It has this fanciful, dreamlike quality to it... and at the same time... a bit of a dark edge. This line sort of captures what I'm talking about: "oh what marvelous things but they are... giving me the creeps." Actually, all the lyrics fit the song so well. _________________ "If you're a ninja, every day is like friday." -Jamie M. |

I was expecting something a bit more dark, too, but I really, really, really liked the juxtaposition of the haunting song with a cheery, sunny setting. I never thought a birthday cake could look so menacing. ' Some of my favorite parts: Chauntelle gazing at the sky in the beginning Sherri singing while facing away from the mic Close-ups of the table with birthday paraphernalia The final tracking shot away from the band Great stuff. Thank you so much, Boyd! _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

The dark/sunny thing seems to fit Eisley well. Their music sounds dark, but it's not terribly bleak overall. Reading some of the lyircs, they're almost cheery. And when you see Chauntelle looking like she's never lived a happier day on stage, you think they couldn't possibly be unhappy. But you listen to it, and there's this unspoken dark edge to everything. If that makes sense ... I just woke up, so there's a chance it doesn't. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Maybe this is weird.. or maybe I'm not alone, but this video seems like it would fit well with Edward Scissorhands. The house, yard, and birthday stuff just kind of remind me of that movie, and all the kids are wearing clothes that would kind of fit the period. Plus the song seems like it would fit. Just an observation. Superglued grass to the knees? Ouch, that must have hurt pulling it off. Or maybe she'll just keep it there. Forever. It will be her trademark w/ the band. Another cool thing about the video that didn't get mentioned: the closeup shot of Jon's Texas-size belt buckle right before the hose scene. [I knew Eisley were a bunch of hosers, eh] _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |
