Yeah, this thread is certainly a jinx if there ever was one.. So to undo the jinx, here's a list of unique and influential bands that were successful: Beatles (the greatest of all time) Led Zeppelin Rolling Stones Pink Floyd Ramones The Pixies Again, many others, too numerous to mention.... To be fair, also, Fugazi chooses to stay at their level of success. So they are extremely successful. They just choose to be semi-obscure. talk about some of the most accessible people ever. i think i run into ian mackaye around DC more than i see some of my friends. also slightly unrelated, the dude who wrote "dance of days" about the dc punk scene lives 5 houses down from me and is now the president of my street association (which spans two blocks...oh the yuppies). _________________ rachelgreeneyes |
