As a nitpicky aside, I've heard that anorexia isn't particularly effective when it comes to actually losing weight. Lots of people are anorexic (starving themselves, basically) but there's no noticeable change in their appearance. Bulemia nervosa is probably what your friends were thinking of when they asked about the girls. (But I'm no expert on eating disorders, so if you know different please correct me.) And even so, they're nowhere near thin enough to warrant such questions. They definitely take good care of themselves and have a high metabolic rate.

I agree, it's not a bad thread. The question has been answered and as far as I can tell no one was offended. You asked the question for the purpose of telling your friends, and there's nothing wrong with that. Smile

You know what? I think this is a good thread. It cut the issue right out. Now when people tell you that they look anorexic, you can say, "But...all they talk about is food. It's not their fault they're tiny." And it's true.

And it's going to go around. People talk about famous people and say the most inane things in their blatherings. But since it has been discussed, the idea can be shot down by anybody who's read this thread.

Plus, I'm anorexic and I weigh 400 pounds. Neither of those are true.

the topic itself maybe good to discuss openly but the question posed/raised in the initial post of this thread was intrusive and personal.

That I sort of agree with. If Chauntelle, Sherri, and Stacy were anorexic, it's probably not something they would admit to the three thousand fans on their message board.

Actually it's Bulimia that makes you gain weight and Anorexia that makes you lose it... learned it in health class Wink

I mean to say that it's a better alternative than just propogating rumor. It's pretty easy to squash that kind of thing, and that's why it's kind of a good idea to mention it. Of course, that doesn't mean people should bring up every little crazy thing they hear, and it certainly doesn't mean people should be rude or demeaning toward the band members.

As far as everything else goes, anorexia is a mental disorder more than an eating disorder. It's more about negative body image than just not eating. It may not be readily apparent, but you can find evidence there. It just doesn't seem likely when you see something like the PETA video where Stacy talks about eating healthier, and hearing of them exercising. You don't tend to get realistic diet plans from people with anorexia. Otherwise, it's just not a good idea to state something as a probable fact just because you can't prove it's not false. Blah blah blah. I think this thread has run its course anyway.

I agree, my husband, for one, ate more than I did "to give me company" while I was pregnant with our second child, and he is still bone and skin...so my point is, that some people are just built that way, and the Dupree girls are obviously NOT anorexic, since anorexia IS a disease and people suffering fromo illnesses don't look that well.
That's all.
Have a nice day!

Umm .. okay well, how about this: I tell my friends not to ask dumb questions like that, I stop starting dumb topics, we totally forget about this topic, and everybody goes back to just obsessing over Eisley! So all is well! Very Happy

Hah, well, I just kind of smile at them and let them continue pigging out with their greasy McD's cheeseburgers and such. Wink

actually, Weston isn't human, I was there when the aliens brought him down, Boyd knows but Kim doesn't, we erased her memory of the whole thing and copy pasted Sherri's birth but changed a few things.

that's why Weston is so "thin" he actually has a hyper alien metabolism. it's pretty complicated.

as for the girls, they're girls who look pretty, and like looking pretty, and have achieved said feat through normal means. note you can't see their bones.
