Well according to Sherri's new journal, they are looking at 11 or 12 songs.

Question though...This just came to me. Who makes that call of "how many songs" make it to an album? Is it mostly whatever songs turn out well enough? Is it the record company's call? The artist's?

I know most albums have generally anywhere from 10 to 20 (more in the 10 to 15 range) but who decides that?

That's a very good question, but I don't know the answer to it... hopefully someone else does!

I'm not sure if anyone but someone on the "inside" of the industry would know though!

Starts to sing something akin to Inside of Love by Nada Surf:
I wanna know what it's like on the inside of the industry...

Though, in all seriousness if Sherri's guessing eleven or twelve, it's probably going to be eleven or twelve. It would be cool if they added a "hidden" track at the end of the album. Those always put a smile on my face.

I personally can't stand hidden tracks. They force way too much work to get on my iPod as a seperate track, and if I like the track, it's hard to find on the disc. Plus, if I put the disc on repeat, I suddenly have a break in music to deal with. Seems like it's just far more trouble than they are worth to me.

I want hidden messages when I spin my turnstyle backwards. Not too hard to do. 40 year old technology can get it done.
