rmlawrence: I know exactly what you're talking about with being worn out from watching videos, reading articles, breathing eisley etc. but that is not the case here (i did that months ago and got sick of it). I would consider myself just a lowly casual fan now that disagrees with WB on the choices they are making. on the topic of anticipation...I agree that the people build it up themselves. But maybe I should have been more direct. The only real link we have to Eisley (if we don't know them) is through Boyd and his journal. Maybe I'm just a cruel soul, but I don't know if I've learned anything from reading it the last 3 months that was cd related. Sure the process can be "interesting" to some but all in all, I don't think there's been much happening in the blog but stalling and jibberish. I respect him and I would bow and kiss his feet for what he does for us fans, but I would rather not see false dates and what come off as "excuses." Boyd doesn't need to make excuses to us for the album coming later than expected, he's just being nice by not directly blaming the label (this is more of me talking out loud at this point). I understand it's his job to get us excited about the new album, I just think it's kind of a false build-up of anticipation that started months ago. THATS the anticipation I'm talking about. theantrider: i agree completely in that it has not been that long for the album process really, and that's why i posted the 2nd thing saying I am more irritated by HOW this album has come about moreso than the wait of it. treetops12: no matter how possible of a bust this album could be (sounds like not a chance from reactions so far) i don't think Eisley will be working at Starbucks anytime soon ha. BNROCKS wrote: Shouldn't Eisley be able to create the music they want to with only a liberal amount of both time and money? I think that statement really sums up what I've been trying to say. too bad I couldn't think of that earlier before I typed an essay that comes off like hatred. Saellys: I was trying to be absurd because I feel as though the process has come off absurd to fans and making things look as if this album will top a historic one. Which I hope it does...but it isn't very likely. And I didn't say that because I'm mad it's not out yet. I said that because this process, no matter how gruesome it is to make an album these days, has appeared as a wilder ride than most album creations. and of course this album is important. if it wasn't, this topic wouldn't be here. I apologize if I have offended anyone, that's not my goal. I'm not here to rant about how stupid it is that the cd isn't out. If it doesn't come out by 2008 or later, so be it. I won't cry about it, I just hope that priorities are in the right place and that YOU PEOPLE READING THIS have been kept in mind by the "big bad music labels" of today. oh...and about boyd's post of the music industry coming to an end in a few years.... i think that may be a weeeeee little extreme. sure people download, but come on, don't say Casadega's 3d album art doesn't entice you to buy it. I know many people around here have, but then again I live in Oberstland. thanks for reading this and for the opinions all. oh and for not getting burned at the stake. I'm glad I can share my actual thoughts without 50,000 people telling me I'm stupid for disagreeing. |

Hmm... I'm not understanding your argument here. It seems like you are upset that Boyd is posting things to pass the time. He is no doubt restless as well, I would guess. If you don't enjoy reading the journals, no one is going to beat you up for just skimming the bold print. I just don't see how this is ruining their reputation or betraying people or lying. It's true that the posts haven't been that "cd related" in a way, but... no harm done. He is not a machine spewing Eisley facts and figures... and I'd like to think that he's not just a branch of their PR... focusing his craftiness on maintaining the interest of fans in order to suck the green out of our wallets. He's just Boyd, and that's apparently the stuff he's thinking about lately. Life is full of delays and bumps in the road and wanderings and ramblings and waitings. Besides, after you get your hasty Eisley fix, what happens then? What about how you grow with the music as you live with it? I think it will be quite classic and things like the album art will mean a lot to us as time goes on.... the three months won't matter then. Why rush all of this? Today has enough in it to keep us busy. Nothing has the right to make you jaded like that. Just my $0.02, based on my understanding (lack of understanding?) of what you've said. |

I'm not going to lie, I've pretty much lost interest in the album. I've heard all those new songs and none of them scream "WOW!" to me. I mean, I like them... but the more I see videos or hear live clips, I find that I'm getting tired of them easy and my chances of buying the album even the week of release are growing smaller. I'm not exactly sure how the whole CD process goes, I guess I just don't quite understand what keeps pushing back the release date. _________________ my name's carrie and i love a good sandwich so if you have a sandwich, come roll with me!

Ouch. Then would you say it was a bad idea to "test" or unveil early versions of songs? It probably brought people out to the Final Noise tour and other recent shows. I don't know, this is confusing to me. Room Noises had a lot of previously known songs... could it cause so many casualties? Is music meant to age and peel off of us that easily? |

I'm a little sad it's going to be a ten song album. Especially since I had already heard Many Funerals, Invasion, Taking Control, Like the Actors, and I Could Be There For You on the Final Noise tour. I also heard snippets of Marsh King's Daughter and Come Clean on that video and I decided to listen to the live version of Go Away. That's eight songs right there, meaning that even with the two extra songs that will be released in Japan, I'll only be hearing four songs that I've never heard before. Though I suppose that's partially my fault for watching the new years video and downloading Go Away. _________________ Hi, my name is Jenna.

I'm just hinting that you need to listen to the album before you feel like you've really already heard most of it. ha. Even the songs you've heard ... you haven't entirely heard. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Well, that's a bit comforting. Anyway, I can see sides of every arguement posted in this thread. Its interesting. I know if my excitement has drained, its partially my fault. I plan on going on an Eisley fast (or non-Eisley fast?) prior to the album's release. About motivations of the band, record company, and all that...I know nothing about the process, what's in anyone's head, so I won't comment about that. The main thing for me is August is when my non-flexible life (i.e. work) starts picking up again, so lesser guarantee that I'll be able to see them on tour if they come somewhere around here. Other than that, I guess the album will speak for itself, when that time comes. |

just say no, it makes sense and saves lives. I said no, I'm actually looking forward to the album release and strangely enough I'm not growing tired at all. I look forward to the ever impending release of said album. _________________ "A mathematician is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat which isn't there." - Charles Darwin (legend) |

Unfortunately, I have to wait as long as everyone else to hear it again. It's torture, because I know exactly what I'm missing. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

It's hardly even the band causing any of this. Actually, it's not at all. There is so much pressure from the label. Sure, from people's reactions this will probably be a wonderful, but the world's reaction will determine how the LABEL truly feels about it once it's out (even if they "like" it now). How the artwork looks will determine if the few CD shoppers who go in the stores, note cool CD artwork, and then listen to a clip or two and say "hay gurl that's good!~" will actually notice Eisley's CD in the crowd. I mean, I know that's a small facet of things but it's still an aspect. And um in comparison to Brand New's newest CD, this has not been pushed back a lot or had a lot of problems. I'd take 2 months over a year or so anyday. Especially since Eisley's cd will actually sound good and not like "wow, I'm trying to be obscure and trying to lose my oldest fans in the process" i.e. Brand New. Brand New's cd had weird artwork and was in a sleeve... unappealing. They had to change so much and push so much due to unhappiness surrounding leaks, personal crises, etc. Now that's really an album that was pushed back too long for no good reason, IMO. And I love Brand New to death but... yeah. the devil and god patrock wrote: I think its funny how different the process can be. Circa Survive spent about a month and a half recording in January. Anyone can write a Circa Survive song, and come up with some of that hip scene artwork with the fancy writing and a balloonwoman. Just kidding. I think. (But keep in mind different labels' pressure, though WB... Equal Vision... yeah? Yeah) Also, dannychair, keep in mind that Jamie The Antrider has heard the cd in its entirety. Your point is that they've played these songs live and they have a chance... his point is that he KNOWS _________________ Previously user holland, 2005. Writing lyrics and music. They are just better at what they do. Amazing geetarers. |
