Please don't eat me if this has been posted; there are so many pages of posts about the special edition CD/DVD package, that I can't keep up with it. I just wanted to keep up the spirit of sharing tidbits of info.

According to anth-net.com (I found it randomly while trying to find an .mp3 of Marsh King's Daughter [in my defense, I've already ordered the special edition CD/DVD package Razz ]).

It says that the DVD will include "making the album" footage, Ventura concert footage (most likely Boyd's videos) and the Memories music video (which Boyd mentioned in his journal). My best guess is that it'll be clips we've seen, because we've gotten lots of goodies already.

There's always hope, though.

I think the Ventura footage is from a professionally filmed Final Noise Tour show. I don't think they would put stuff we've already seen on the DVD but, I could be wrong.

Ooh, but why would they include footage from an old tour? Actually, I'm not sure if it's old (I'm guessing that the Final Noise tour was based on Room Noises?). Seems like a better idea to include new things that are fresh, like new stuff to promote Combinations.

But then again, they're putting the music video for Memories on there, so I could be completely wrong.

The Final Noise Tour was in the summer of '06. It isn't that old. And that was a damn good tour.

That was basically the most recent real tour that could have reasonably been put on the DVD. They've tried multiple times over the years to get some professionally shot concert footage, but there always seems to be problems with getting an entire show. This will be the first stuff that really makes it out, and it's probably the best pro stuff they have.

Ah, thanks for the explanation.

Patrock, I wish I had gotten interested in Eisley earlier so that I could've attended a show for Room Noises. At least we might be able to see some good action on the DVD. Fingers crossed. Smile

It's good footage... there are 2 videos on Youtube from the Ventura show. I hope they played Mr. Pine that night.

I'm kind of confused.
Say I pick up the album at Target.
Will it have the DVD included?
Or is that only if I preorder it from somewhere online?

this may sound like a stupid question but -
1, do you think it's worth it to get the DVD set? sounds like it's newish stuff and I adore Eisley, but we're ordering from overseas and it costs three times as much in the currency here.
2, and more importantly Razz do you know if it's the blue case is just a wrap around the set or are both the album and DVD in it? cause i really liked how the non-blue cover looked. silly i know, but it's so pretty.

I'm glad that you can get the lithograph either way.

The blue cover is the special edition and the yellow/brown cover is the normal CD.

they opened with Mr. Pine every show of that tour, but that could of been one of the songs that made them decide not to put the dvd out (it was "sound problems"/ light (maybe....If I remember right) and there are usually multiple sound problems with the first song and so I wouldn't count on Mr. Pine being on the dvd...

Target usually doesn't have special editions. The best "big chain" to get special editions is Best Buy

I'd wait if I were you. The "Making of the Album" clips could very well just be the webisodes from Youtube. I say just wait and see exactly what's on them from some of us and then we'll let you all from across the pond/down under what's goin on with the dvd.
