I just realized while discussing "Lady Get Away" in another thread that there are a bunch of Eisley songs that share particular words, and not just common ones like "a" and "the". For instance, there's "Lady Get Away," "Go Away," "One Day I Slowly Floated Away," and the Sherri demo of "People Go Away". That one music critic around the time Room Noises came out made a big deal about how much they use "shall," like in "Bright Wound" and "One Day I Slowly Floated Away". And of course, variations on "crazy" and "insane" pop up all over Room Noises and Combinations, like in "Golly Sandra," "Invasion," and "A Sight To Behold" among others. I think in some cases these words keep popping up because they're easy to fit into lyrics... "Insane" has an accent on the second syllable, while "crazy" has an accent on the first, so depending on the situation you can switch them out and say the same thing. Try singing the first line of "A Sight to Behold" with "crazy" instead of "insane"--it doesn't work. The reverse goes for the bridge of "Invasion". As for "shall," "I will never grow up" just doesn't have the same ring when set to the melody of "Brightly Wound". It lends a lot more distinction and actually makes it easier to sing. Any other people out there notice this and have examples to share? _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

unicorns barbies etc.... but srsly Dear Although, I don't really think it's a bad thing. I tend to gloss over lyrical content a lot of the time. I didn't know Blackstar was a kind of gun or that the song was even about suicide till last week! _________________ EisleyForever wrote: you're A-list in my heart! MAKECOLDPLAYHISTORY |

some of their songs are about sleeping and dreaming. I've noticed they say "child" a few times: Head against the sky- "I've watched you grow up child" Dream for me- "Sleep my little child" Aristicats- "Break into the outer world, child" _________________ www.johnnycupcakes.com/shop/ |
