I think Hilary was saying she went again hoping for something else and didn't get it, and feels like it's not entertaining enough for her to go to another show. There's nothing really wrong with that. I don't agree with her, but that's just personal criteria for a concert. I don't feel like Eisley rushes through their songs to fit in more, more than they figure their fans would rather hear another song rather them talking about how they can't take a shower for a week. (Though I do usually enjoy their banter.) So to me, the quality is still there, with a bonus of hearing many of the songs I really enjoy in a setting that can't be reproduced by any recording. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I guess i can see where the whole "they didn't talk enough" thing comes from. I personally like going to see bands live to CONNECT with them. Not necessarily on a personal level, but there is something fun about listening to one of your favorite albums and then SEEING the people that created it live. The more banter, the more you get this fantasy idea that you "know where they are coming from" or that you know how that person felt when they wrote that song. It's hard to explain exactly and my ideas in my head are getting jumbled here when I write them down. I was just trying to point out that sometimes when a band just cranks out songs on stage, that it can sometimes leave you thinking "well I should have just popped in my CD tonight and saved my $20" |

I personally think hearing the songs live is drastically superior to a CD. However, this is making me think a poll could be in order. I think I shall do that ... Kim's post made me so sad. Some of the members have gone through personal hardships recently and they have pushed through them with gleaming optimism. They all have very admirable qualities. Yes, yes. On the topic of "not enough" banter in the live shows. My personal opinion is that so long as the band makes a heartfelt EFFORT to interact with the audience and just at least says, "hey whats up? we're eisley...thanks for coming. blah. Just something to make me feel like the audience is welcome is all I need. I've been to shows where the artist/band doesn't even greet the audience and is like a human brick wall the entire show....The Pixies :cough: Banter doesn't make or break a show for me....if I wanted to watch someone talk on stage I would go see a comedy show. There's NO WAY in heck that a cd can compare or much less take the place of a live show. A cd is an inanimate object, a live show is an experience full of atmosphere and all of your senses. I cant get enough of live shows. To me it's all about seeing your fave band/artist in their element and you being lucky enough to witness it. Eisley as far as live shows goes, have grown leaps and bounds. The new intro's Stacy has written for some of the songs blow my mind! The slow, building intro for "a sight to behold" with the band getting the crowd to clap along is awesome. Stacy is singing with so much more passion now and I'm happy that she's off of her piano bench which makes it possible for her to be more expressive. Sherri and Chauntelle both also seem so much more confident & infused with passion on this tour. Sorry for babbling so much. I just felt moved by what Kim said. They're growing so much as live musicians...the world has yet to see what they will become. Just wait. They will explode your minds. Biotches. _________________ nothing takes away the past like the future. |

This thread just quickly turned into something else. Well, in return, for sending him my pictures, I have more pictures from this guy I met at the show. They're not much different from mine because he said he stood behind me for the most part, but he asked someone else with a professional camera to send him their pictures, and they've yet to do so. I asked him to forward them to me once he gets them.. and I'll post them then. But for now... _________________ Be happy, be contagious. |

Even though I'm kind of bummed that they're not playing Blackened Crown, I'm just happy that they're touring! I mean, they weren't slated to do anything probably until this summer. But because life throws you curve balls, they decided that they'd tour anyways even though many things could've kept them from doing so. I find that extremely admirable. I'm just grateful that I'm going to get to see them one last time with my best friends from high school before heading off to college. It's kind of my group's last Eisley hurah. Lol. Lame, but whatever... So I'm definitely very, very happy to be having this tour. If there's less banter... fine. If there's more... fine. I'm just going to take the show how it is and be happy with it. It's another memory either way. I've never had a bad Eisley show; they've always performed amazingly all of the times I've seen them. I think they're one of the best live bands around, and it was their live show that made me fall in love with their music to begin with. So yeah... That's just me and how I see it. We're all different and expect different things. I'm just excited to see them. _________________ "I cannot discuss your verses; for any attempt at criticism would be foreign to me. Also, are they projecting video on this tour? It seems to be of the live action, but close ups of them singing, etc. I don't remember which song this was.. I want to say I Wasn't Prepared right after Christie went on.. she picked up her guitar a little after. It's not If You're Wondering because Garron/Weston/Chauntelle were already offstage by then. And I don't know about other shows, but at the Culture Room they did the projector thing. (Which I think is the venue, not the band) _________________ Be happy, be contagious. |
