From a myspace bulletin they posted:

"We have been summoned at the final minute for a tour in the UK beginning this Saturday in London...unfortunately this means we must bid adieu to our dear, dear friends in Eisley earlier than anticipated. Our last show will be tonight in DC at the 930 club."

I was actually kind of excited to see them. Shucks.

WTF!!!

That's terrible news... They were half the reason I was going to the show on Sunday.

Not that I really care, but shouldn't bands be like...under contract so that things like this can be avoided?

You'd think that the would think trying to build a US fanbase would be more important to them. That and Eisley did a lot to get them on the tour. Rolling Eyes

they are on a UK major label who is releasing their debut album on April 28th. building a solid UK fanbase seems to be what is crucial at this point.

I'm sure no hard feelings between the bands. Seems they're good friends, and they went into the tour knowing very well this could happen, hoping to do as many dates as possible before the label summoned them back.

but i agree, it is a bummer for everyone though. jammin' tunes.

Agreed. I'm sure if the band themselves had a choice in the matter they would finish out the rest of the tour with Eisley, but I'm also sure they must be terribly happy that Mercury is FINALLY releasing Dwell and they're going to get something of a push in preparation for that.

Also, if I had to choose between a six-song opening set for a crowd that doesn't seem to get the music (judging by the responses in the favorite openers thread) and getting main support in the freakin' Astoria in front of a crowd who would probably be a lot more receptive, I'd pick the latter. This is a smart move for them.

Yeah, it sucks that the people who go to see Eisley for the rest of this tour won't get to see the Corps along with them, but such is life. I had to miss both of them because I was working. We'll all find a way to survive and maybe the next time you have a chance to see the Envy Corps they'll be headlining. Wouldn't that be swell?

You're right. Envy Crops are too good to play to us lowly Eisley fans who are unreceptive to their sound.
