One thing I like about Eisley's songwriting is the strength of the bridges. A lot of times, it seems like bands or songwriters use up the good melodic ideas (if any) elsewhere in the song, and then someone said, "you need a bridge," and so they just come up with some random filler for a bridge. But with Eisley, the bridges are not only strong -- with interesting melodic hooks -- but sometimes even strike me as almost the best part of the song, like everything has been building to that point. Not an exhaustive list, but I feel that way about Invasion, I Could Be There for You, and One Day I Slowly Floated Away. _________________ Classical guitar cover of "Combinations": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkIpDhvbd2o |

Yes, they are tactical geniuseses (double plural) that way. My favorite thing to say about My Lovely is "The verse is great, and the only thing better than the verse is the chorus, and the only thing better than the chorus is the bridge." _________________ http://www.twitter.com/drstrangeblog http://www.last.fm/user/getinline I can't find the time to write my mind the way I want it to read. |

yeah. I've always thought the bridges in their songs are usually the best. Like the Actors ICBTFY Over the Mountian Memories Marvelous Things Plenty of Paper Combinations etc. they all have insane bridges that are usually the part I listen to the song for. |

I also agree ... I like how every part of their songs brings something to the table, and they don't do things just to hear themselves play. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I'll sleep for ever until I wake under the glacier ground best part of the entire song, right there. i think that the acoustic version of TES is superior to the recorded version. back on topic. i completely agree, their bridges are incredibly insane. people tend to disagree with me on this, but i still think Come Clean is one of their best. the harmony and the softness of the bridge is spectacular. _________________ cynlovescandy wrote: kulvir wrote: I bet R. Y'all left out the best part: These beautiful moments we shared together All end now They'll make me drink this potion; I'll sleep forever Until I wake under the glacier ground I need to listen to the acoustic version, Escaping Song is in my top 5 alternating favorites. _________________ we're really not alone, we have each other |

nevernever wrote: combinations has the best bridge. no question. NO argument here..combinations also has one of the coolest opening rifts. I mean they have a lot of great ones but that is one of those thats..just all it's own. _________________ Sherri is weird...(Weird: Wondrous Epiphanies Inspiring Reminiscent Daydreams)...A.K.A.
